Building a midi controller

Hey guys, I'm trying to find info on building a midi controller for drums. I need to know how to turn electrical signals from a piezo pickup into midi messages. Anyone have any info, or a place for me to start my search?
Thanks.

Yeah, it's downloading that's hurt the music industry...not bad music. Not giving shit loads to people then not releasing their albums. Not bad business practices. And I love the Quite from the guy that said "the losses are incalculable" Right after the numbers. I love that. I would feel worse about...

for strumming, nothing beats a Gibson Hummingbird, in my book ... I have a Hummingbird that I slap a 414 in front of and it always sounds good. If you really take your time it sounds AWESOME! But any high quality guitar will do. Martins are great. Better factory tour than Gibson...if that matters.

5 feet back is a good place to start. More can't hurt. Bass wavelengths are typically in the low double digits (hence the car thing) so if you get back a few feet they get to develop enough that you can actually hear them. I'm with these two on the LDC back and a dynamic or a SDC up close, off axis....

I think the free market started regulating itself over seven years ago when people stopped listening to radios and started downloading music to find new stuff. No better way to regulate a crappy market than to disregard it completely, if I can say so myself. for better or for worse, I could care le...

Honestly, I'm kind of stoked about this. I fucking hate Guitar Center, and now I have 0 reason to ever go there again. We have had some amazing deals from them (the former owner of the studio bought huge amounts of gear, all from the same sales guy), but I prefer to support a small company- of whic...

Sorry...I know it's lame, but it made me giggle to myself and I hope that it does the same for you.

Room sound

So I'm visiting a friend in CA and I walk into his apartment and low and behold...20ft ceilings!!! I'm not even kidding! I did the typical clapping and hooting like a maniac to check the sound (silly, I know, but I like hearing how it bounces and flutters) and then got out my guitar. I haven't heard...

Most of the time when I comp it's my own vocals and I limit myself to three takes. If I can't get it by then I'm not going to. Though to be fair I'm not that good and I try not to be a perfectionist about it all. If I do go more than that I pick the best take and only comp where I feel it REALLY nee...
