If snap is anything like boom, you won't be able to get it without using Nuendo.

Check out the song "Choose the one who loves you more" from Copeland. That song might be a good example of mixing two drumsets.

If I'm not mistaken, Thrice did this on their Vheissu album and it sounded pretty damn good for the songs they did it on. It's definitely a different type of feel than recording the drums and cymbals all at once, but given the right song it can sound perfect. edit: something I remember reading, is t...

Favorite Cymbals to Record

Hey guys, long-time drummer and recording engineer student here. I was wondering what you all consider to be your favorite cymbals for recording. I've been using Zildjians ever since my first drum set (early middle school) and haven't really had much chance to record any other types of cymbals. What...

What did you end up using to mic his set?

Yeah, the snare sounded terrible IMO. It was our school's snare. Some metal Tama snare tuned up about as high as it could go and the drummer was barely tapping it. The rack tom mic was literally getting as much snare as the snare mic when those two faders were at unity. I don't know why whoever was ...

That snare has been giving me some trouble. It was played really inconsistently and when I try to take a stronger hit from the song and use SoundReplacer I can't get good results.

New mix. Criticism needed.

Hi guys, here's a mix that I'm working on right now. Take a listen if you'd like and post any input you have on the mix or even just talk about mixing techniques for me to try out. Thanks in advance. :) http://rapidshare.com/files/202627908/Trigger-Mix-1.mp3.html EDIT: If the rapidshare link stops w...

I'm 20 and going to school for recording arts and I probably wouldn't know how to record on a cassette either.

Come to think of it, I've probably only ever recorded on cassette once in my life and that was a looong time ago. lol

That only works if you're left handed, studies show.

The song "Emergency Broadcast::The End Is Near" from Underoath has some interesting double drumming going on. Check that one out.
