Try two mics on the amp and pan them L/R. Watch out for the phase.

Hillary,

I will be there Thursday morning and I will have a car. I would be more than happy to help out. Let me know if you need an extra driver.

Hillary,

My studio is small but all pro equipment. Just outside DC. Only drawback is I only have an MS16 for tape, but I have a HD3 set up. Let me know if you need any info.

I can't wait. There are so many things going on at once. I wonder if it is ok to record panels we can't make it to. I hope someone can answer that.

Leader tape is to put in between songs etc to mark and separate. You can see it on the reel so you don't have to watch the counter and you don't have to use up tape to space between songs. Splicing tape is to hold together tape splices. I got my head cleaners online from some online tape store (sorr...

I have not been before and can't wait. I am getting in on Wed to see the area. The hotel looks amazing and I can't wait to geek out. I spend too much time in the studio and the chance to learn from the best and get out side is a win win!

It's a strange thing we have gotten ourselves into isn't it. I have had that feeling before and it is not fun, so why do we keep doing this? We find out later we have changed the way people look at their music/lives with our mistakes.

I made big gains with mixing the first time I mixed stuff someone else recorded. When I felt no responsibility to how things were recorded I just did what ever it took to make things sound good. The interaction with the band sometimes makes me feel uneasy. When I get something I think sounds good an...

I think you could go to as many movies as you wanted. I didn't have a lot of time in London. I was lucky enough to just happen to be there and found out only a few days before I went. I saw the new version of Queen too, it was fun. I think they squeezed in 15,000 for each show. It was full. They had...

What movie would you have picked? It took me a long time to decide. You could pick from any movie that had it's soundtrack done there. I thought about all the Beatles movies, but ended up going to The Wall. The surround sound in studio one was great.

I was lucky enough to get in a few years ago when they had a movie festival to mark the 25th anniversary of sounds tracks being recorded there. They let us hang around in Studio 2 for a couple of hours, I ate in the cafeteria and then saw the movie in studio 1. It has made reading "RTB" so much more...
