I went to Omega. It was great. I think if you can get into a studio it is best, but Omega helped me a lot and I was in the same boat. Until then, as nike says, just do it.

Hey Todd, I just moved to SD from the DC area. I had a small studio and was building a good clientele before we moved. I went to school back there. I have a mixing set up in the house now (lots of gear) so if you ever want to get together and talk about it I would love to hear about the area and let...

Wow, that's great. The amounts are large, but it's not that crazy if you have the money when you think about other things like this. I I want him to come and just tune my drums and give me lessons. I wonder if I can get a loan.

I am in the same boat. Same size space. Every time I think I am sure I have decided I read something that changes my mind. I keep thinking I want two rooms because I can have two specific areas with different purposes. For me the one room makes sense because that's how I work. I can't commit to one ...

I used to do it a lot. It was usually when I found myself lost in the mix. Sometimes it was because I was very close to what I wanted, but I could figure out what to do next. Sometimes it was because I had done too much and I had gone past a good mix into some dark evil mushy sounding thing. The fir...

Remember that when trying to "mine' some attack out of a washy track. the needle doesnt have to come back to "0" to be shaping the heck out of the first 30ms or whatever you set it to. effectively, that means you have turned down everything "after" the first 30 Ms, which can read as more snap from ...

I just moved to San Diego and I have been working with Griff who works out of this studio: http://www.hilltopfrog.com/studio.html He turned his whole house into a "destination" studio. It is north of San Diego, but while you are up there you can check out one od San Diego's bigger studios at http://...

I fit all the criteria, however my overbearing personality is due to a lack of self confidence. Will that be a problem? I also have unruly hair, which I would imagine would be a plus, and a selection of cow bells from around the world.

What size skull did you use on that snare track? I found some chunks on e-bay, are they the type you use? Do you keep yours refrigerated?
