Pro-Tools external drive issue
I have a firewire drive I've been using for a few years now with no issues (maxtor). Last night I recorded a couple different sessions on the drive and this morning I can't open them form my external anymore. Pro tools says "this volume is for playback only." I'm confused to say the least..anyone ha...

Just curious if you purchase the micro can you record into pro-tools using the mic built into the macbook? Or can you use the 1/8 inch input to record into pro-tools?

Tranfering from cassette to digital-advice
I have a cassette copy of my Mom's band and I want to take it to a studio and have it burned to cd. I would like to eliminate some of the tape hiss in the process. Can anyone give advice on the best plugin for this? Does any one plugin stand above the rest? The recording was originally done at a stu...

I mean can you program the plugin to reduce hiss without killing off all the high end. Because whene...

pro tool 10.4.10
I accidently did the software upgrade from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10 and ran into a bunch of problems of course. I took my computer in apple and the report said it was because of a digi hardware communication problem. Anyway I went to digi's site and they of course do not yet support 10.4.10. I ended up hav...

not having to be plugged in
-I'd like to edit on my laptop at the coffee shop without having to bring a bulky m-box and usb cable. -I'd like my built in mic (macbook) to record directly to pro-tools just by changing the preferences tab. It would be nice when you want to just get some quick ideas down with acc. gtr and vocals a...

Arguing taste is pointless to me. Sure you can say whatever you want, at least in this forum, but why? If you want to educate me about artists i may not know about and or history of given genre I'm all for it. But (in my opinion) you come off a little righteous and that can inhibit/deter the learnin...

To the guy that feels he must criticize my request for an interview/information on BOC. I don't tell you what you should eat or what diet to go on do I? Then please don't tell me what is interesting and tasty to my musical pallet. Sound = feeling .Remember that is a subjective process...No right or ...

I was wondering if tapeop could possibly pick these guys brains about how they record and get some of their sounds? Been listening to these guys for years and sonically, to me at least, they capture something really unique. Anyway I would love to read up on these guys...
