Re: Recommend me an interface!

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Anyone have experience with less-expensive options? The only thing I'm finding that checks all my boxes (Thunderbolt, 4 channels, $500-700 range) is the Focusrite Clarett 4pre — any experiences for/against?

Recommend me an interface!

Hey folks — been a while. Things look a little different around here! So I'm finally upgrading the ancient system on which I'd been running PT6 (yep) for years and years, in my little project studio. Brand new Macbook Pro coming, on which I'm making the switch to Logic. Can you recommend a new inter...

New album of instrumental tunes

Hi folks: I just released a new album today ? all instrumental, recorded at home using a combination of my Tascam 488 and a computer. It ranges in mood from gentle/meditative/loop-based to jittery/energetic/hooky. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Listen/download at Bandcamp or stream at Spotif...

No Latency Compensation. I'm certain.

After removing an apparently resource-hogging plugin from a previously recorded track, all is well. I guess that suggests that my computer is just less able to handle multiple tasks than it used to be?

No Latency Compensation in PT6, I believe.

To be clear, this system has worked perfectly well for me for ten years, and I haven't changed anything (that I know of).

Sudden large latency

Hi folks: Been a while since I've checked in to these parts. Hope everyone's doing well. I just started having an odd problem. I'm still using a pretty ancient Pro Tools rig (PT 6.9, original MBox, on a decade-old Mac Mini). This past weekend, when listening back to any new overdubs, there would be ...

I've always found that my performances are better if they're not to a click, so if I want a precise tempo, I will: 1. record guitar to a click 2. record drums while listening only to the guitar (no click) 3. replace the guitar while listening only to the drums. That way the keeper takes were all don...

FS: Grace m101 mic preamp - Like New!

Selling my Grace m101. This is the one with the "ribbon button" that switches the impedance to flatter ribbon mics (and also disables phantom). It's a super clean and quiet preamp, great not only for ribbons but also for anything that needs a little extra gain (like an SM7). Looks & works like new! ...

FS: Ibanez AD9 analog delay pedal - SOLD

Selling my AD9 delay. This is the recent-ish reissue (within the past 10 years, can't remember exactly when I got it). It's been treated with loving care and is in near-pristine condition. Barely a scratch on it.

SOLD!

Things To Do in LA?

Hey TOMB-ers: I'm going to be in Los Angeles for a few days this summer -- my first time there. Curious if there are any music-related or recording-related things to do there that I shouldn't miss. Are any of the classic/legendary recording studios open for tours? Any other music-related places that...

FS: Audio Technica AT4050 - SOLD

I'm trying to pare down the mic collection a bit, so I'm letting this one go: AT4050/CM5 in excellent condition. It's a multi-pattern condenser (cardioid, fig 8, omni). Sounds great, and in good shape cosmetically to boot. $400 including shipping to the US. One note: The mount is not the "shockmount...

Update! Got in and heard for myself while the band played, and determined that it's: 1. bass and kick drum, mostly 2. incredibly quiet. I've heard cars driving by that were louder. My footsteps on their living room floor as I walked in were louder! So I guess it very well may be just the sound escap...
