baking tapes / food dehydrators

Well, this is definitely the weirdest question I've personally ever asked on here, but what food dehydrator is do you guys recommend for baking tapes? I saw someone recommending Mr. Coffee and I'm wondering if there's any difference between brands, really, and what specific brands anyone out there h...

Seattle based tape techs?

I hope this is the right category to post this, but is there anyone in the Seattle area who can help me out with an MCI JH110 1" 8 track machine? Nothing major, just basic calibration, biasing and alignment, I believe. I definitely plan on getting to know this stuff myself, but I'd love to have some...

Wow - really sounds great! Cool song. If I were pressed to state a personal opinion, I'd say the drums sound kinda small. But that's a totally personal preference and it's certainly not to the detriment of your mix or the song.

Nice work.

Ah, the mis-use of the word "literally." An all-too-common occurence in modern life. Yes. That, and 'ironic'. Yeah, that shit's like rain on yer wedding day. Ha! Yeah, THAT'S ironic! Good one.... just a little TOO ironic, mkay? mkay. It's from that idiotic Alanis tune, "Ironic", in which she ...

i agree with most of that but while you were typing i wrote up this - shit i know i just woke up and i'm not all there yet but i could barely get through the first 1/3 of that. i'm not a programmer so that is a pretty heavy read after the first few paragraphs. but it did make some things clear. fir...

It definitely doesn't sound 'good' in the traditional sense, and that's one of the things I love most about it. I also like Love and Rockets, Cocteau Twins, Jesus and Mary Chain, etc. for the same reason. I don't know whether Loveless sounds like that due to technical limitations or if that's the v...

I like that record a lot. Seriously. But it sounds like crap from a traditional standpoint of "this is what a well recorded and mixed record sounds like". I mean, I've heard tons of arguments like "It was mixed so that you have to turn it way the fuck up to hear the drums and vocals, and that's gen...

Also, "Trio Jeepy" by Branford Marsalis trio. The material is what it is, but I think it's a sensational sounding record. "Triology" by Kenny Garrett's pretty kicking, too. They actually have a lot of the same qualities; like you're sitting in a small club listening to them play 10 feet in front of ...

there's also the story of the two of them playing on a session together, i dunno whose, but miles told monk to lay out during his solo...so it comes to miles' solo and monk gets up from the piano, walks over and towers imposingly right over miles whilst he's playing... Hehe - yeah, I remember that ...

What's that story again about Thelonius trying out for Miles Davis' band, and they thought he was retarded because he just sat at the piano mumbling and playing little thingies with one hand? Whose band was that again? Pfft. That sounds like baloney. Miles is well known as learning a ton from Monk ...

I do love the Columbia-era Miles stuff. Nefertiti in particular. That might be my favorite recording of Tony's cymbal on any record ever. I also love the better Van Gelder stuff, like "Speak No Evil." Ever notice that that's like the only recording of Elvin ever where his cymbal has no rivets in it...

Miles Davis "Four and More", and "Mile Smiles". Duke Ellington's "Harlem Suite" sounds great. Ahmad Jamal Live at the Pershing. What's that Mingus record where he pretends it's a live date? Like talking to the audience and telling them not to applaud, etc., but it was actually a studio date? Anyway,...
