This is a bit of an offshoot from my original question, but what the hell. I posted a clip of something I was screwing around with today on my myspace. It just seems like no matter what instrument I'm recording, it seems distant and lacking the punch you here in a professional recording. http://www....

Recording Electric Bass DI: Tool - 10,000 Days
I was wondering if anyone could give me a few basic tips on recording Bass directly into the mixer. I'm getting a decent generic bass sound right now just running the bass into the mixer and having the lows a hair up and the highs a hair up. I really love the tone on the new Tool album. It sounds re...

2.66ghz P4, 1.5gb PC2700, Windows XP. Yeah I was snooping around at the USB DI's. That seems like a better route because, afterall, I will probably never be using more than one channel at a time. I was poking around in Soundforge/ACID though and I may have to switch software if I go with a USB inter...

Time for some upgrades. (very low grade setup questions)
Okay so my music making rig has finally gotten to the point where my recording setup is bottlenecking my final product. I play Guitar, Bass, and Keyboards. I'm running my guitar into a Catalinbread SCOD --> Big Muff --> Vox Wah87 --> DD-20 --> 1970's Ampeg VT-22. The bass I just DI into the mixer. K...

Re: trade me.
You realize no one is going to buy used when they could get the stuff new for a few bones more...? Your asking prices are too high imo.

Yeah I was thinking of snagging these to help learn some songs. THom Yorke is so much easier to understand without the vocals!

Re: Wiieerdddd Headphones
Listening to a shoutcast radio now it is just randomly blocking out parts. A guitar solo just got completely blocked out leaving the drums and bass. Then the guitar will come back but the vocals dissapear.
Agh!

I'm using a pair from school now. They play all of the music fine except they block out almost all of the vocals. Some tracks they actually do play the vocals except it is like the signer is in a echo chamber. Sometimes it sounds like there is a phaser being used over the whole mix. I've tried Led Z...
