Re: free looping software for PC?

Thanks for your input. I found a link to Cool Edit 96, which is something I've used before on a win 98 box 4 or 5 years ago. I'm currently using XP Pro and it works like a charm. I didn't think it would, and didn't bother tryin' it. Doh.

free looping software for PC?

Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a good FREE program(s) that will allow me to edit and loop .mp3 and .wav files? I've been looking around for a few days now, but can't seem to find anything. Your input is appreciated!

Re: distorted/compressed drums

Look around for a Shure Level-Loc. Man I tell ya- those things are gold on drums. Trashy, aggressive, and really cool.

MBox/Protools or Sonor?

Anyone using the Digidesign MBox/ProTools with a PC? How's it been working for you?

I'm also curious about Sonor and would love to know what you think.

Thanks!

Re: moog taurus bass...anybody?

I've got some experience playing bass, Taurus II's, and singing- all at once sometimes. It was a little daunting at first, but once I got used to it I had a total blast with 'em. I always ran the Taurus direct to the house and asked for a bit in the monitors-- not like I ever really needed it, as he...

Hell yes. He's an amazing player. I'd LOVE to read about him in TapeOp.

Re: FS: Soundcraft M8 and Hamer Cruise 2TEK bass

bump. BTW: The Hamer Cruise bass is made in the USA, has an incredibly perfect neck, and comes with Schaller StrapLocks. The EMG JV pickups are humcanceling too, so you can solo each pickup without any noise. And the Soundcraft Spirit is in nearly brand new condition too. Works and sounds great, but...

Re: Your process

I usually get the song together on a guitar and record it to cassette tape using an old Panasonic cassette recorder. I'll listen a few times to see if I dig it. If I like the vibe of it but feel it needs something else, this is when I figure that out. If I think it's something worthwhile, I'll mess ...

Re: Favorite recording-use stompboxes

I love using my Analog Man Bi-Comprosser for drums- a Fulltone Bass Drive for vocals- and sometimes both for drums and/or vocals. Good, good stuph. Wardshorsehead- what've you used your SupaTrem on specifically? I've never thought to use mine in that way but... I'm going to fire up my gear and exper...

Re: The Beatles vs. The Beach Boys

What a great thread! All the bands mentioned within are what inspired me to be a musician in the first place. When I was 5 years old, I came in from a day in the snow with my pals. My mom wanted to make me some hot cocoa, and while I waited she asked me to pick out my two favorite records from my pa...

Re: Favorite 12AX7 Pre-Amp Tubes

I'll second the Svetlana and JJ tubes. Excellent quality/great sound. 5751's are a nice compromise if you want to lower the overall gain, and still get some grit. I've got one of those PreSonus Blue Tube preamps, and while the stock 12AX7s sounded ok, 5751's sound much smoother and have a little mor...

Re: Ever sitting in a session and....

And lets not forget the massive contribution that Stryper made to metal. I still can't get the chorus of "To Hell with the Devil" out of my head. Not to mention their fashion sense- yellow and black striped everything. Brilliant!

Heh.
