Tascam 38 reel to reel

I'm selling my Tascam 38 reel to reel. It sounds beautiful and I'll miss it but I desperately need funds for a trip to Oakland next month. $300 plus shipping and packing by UPS The heads are in good shape and the motor functions perfectly. I took very good care of this machine and it has been very l...

So how do you like that Dano 12 string? I've been looking at those recently.....can't afford a rickenbacker.

I'm using a Soundcraft Spirit M8 which works very nicely with my Tascam. Cost me $400.

I hope this is your band. This is great.
Yeah, that's my bandmate Robert, we considered starting a fake flame war if nobody responded.

Thanks, we spent a long time on the album......tapeop was consulted many times.

I Come to Shanghai

Hey guys, After a long, long time we finally finished our album. We used this site repeatedly for advice and insight. We're really excited about it. http://icometoshanghai.com/home.html It's available as a pay-what-you-can download or a $10 cd. There's also a great video up on the sight. Check it out!

The piano is definitely coming with me. I actually got a nice discount on the move since I am a regular customer. It's been one of my main writing tools for the last few years and I think it deserves some loyalty. Plus there's easy access to the harp for when I "prepare" it with washers and such.......

I'll be looking at a 1972 rhodes 73 tomorrow evening. Being advertised as in top shape for $800. If I like it this will be my fifth rhodes, crazy. I'm only going to buy this thing if it's really sweet. But it seems like the wurly can work too. A case is probably a good idea. I wish that the sustain ...

Yup but it's so much better than the other options. I tour with a Rhodes.
So do you end up performing a lot of maintenance yourself?

Gigging with a Wurlitzer 200a

I've had a bunch of keyboard related questions lately, so far everyone has been very helpful.....don't fail me now! My band is preparing our live show after spending a couple of years recording our album. I play guitar and keys. Right now we're using my wurlitzer 200a as our main keyboard (along wit...

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went to Guitar Center (yeck, I know) and tried out some digital pianos......I came home right away, hugged my piano and vowed to never let it go! It holds tune very well and has a ton of mojo. I'll definitely look into fixing it up a bit, or at least have a professi...

Say goodbye to my upright piano?

This is probably one of those questions that I can only answer myself.....but it would be so much easier if you guys answer it for me. I've had an old, old Ivorson & Son upright piano for the past five years. It has moved with me to three different apartments and is all over our soon to be released ...

I'm thinking of saving up for the Coles for our next album.....but I have to give big props to the Chandler. It was my first big preamp purchase (I'd been using an FMR RNP) and the difference it makes is pretty amazing. Everything you put through it becomes a bit sweeter (sorry, I suck at describing...

There is a programmer for the DX7: http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2008/01/jellinghaus-dx-programmer.html I've seen that.....it's outrageous. I tried programming my DX7 last night, it is definitely not like riding a bicycle, I was completely lost. Patches I make on my monomachine (in poly mode) sou...

I've long dreamed of an FM synth with a knob for every function. In the DX-7's case that would be a lot of knobs. I use an Elektron monomachine which gets some very nice FM sounds (though not a true 6 operator synth). It's a bit quirky but it sounds unbelievable. I've never heard a demo that does it...

I'd change the name. For a few months my band was named after a semi-obscure song and even that didn't seem right. We went through a long phase where everything became a band name. "Emergency Steak", "Possibly Gay?", "Cream of the Crunk", "White People" (our favorite)..... I like having a name that ...
