What value do the schematics call for? Are these additional service notes or updates that spec the new parts? Any idea about who added them or why?. There is a note on the schematic which says: C5 is 220u/40 for high speed (7.5, 15, 30ips) and 330/35 for lo speed (3.75, 7.5,15ips) This is from the ...

Fair enough, I can match it exactly. Was trying to simplify things. The reason it's piggybacked: It is in the erase circuit on an MCI JH-110. I was told the extra cap was put there to bolster the erase signal for 2 channel machines running with 1/2" heads/tape rather than the standard 1/4" setup. My...

Basic Elec Question

Hi all,

I'm replacing piggybacked electrolytic caps with values of 330u/35v and 63u/47v. Can I replace these with a single cap? If so, what value would be appropriate?

Is there a formula I could use to figure this myself?

Tia!

I was mistaken on what the #'s are on the smaller cap. In addition to 06.79, 81000 and electrolitico is this: 47/63.

I guess one of these is the capacitance and one the voltage but which is which?

Thx

Hello all, I've got a 110C 8 channel machine. You know the 2 caps that are piggybacked on the audio motherboard as R5? Can someone tell me the value of each cap? The larger cap on my machine is a 220uf 35v but I cannot decipher the numbers on the smaller one (it's orange). Here is what's on the smal...

One more vote for the Hakko. I got this one about 6 months ago on ebay. The guy sells a lot of soldering tools and for decent money. http://cgi.ebay.com/HAKKO-936-12-SOLDER-STATION-WITH-4-EXTRA-TIPS-INCLUDED_W0QQitemZ170215714811QQihZ007QQcategoryZ109556QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem He's got...

For MCI JH-110 Owners

I was going to post a question about sourcing some record relays for the JH-110 when I stumbled upon this on ebay. The guy has 3 left @ $1.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&Item=330203752174 These are the exact make/model of ones in my 2 channel machine...
