ISDN codec for sale
Hi. I'm selling an almost brand new Prima LT ISDN codec made by Musicam. It has been used only three times. Still have all original packaging, manual, etc... Bought it in April and it is in mint condition. No rack rash or anything. Paid $3200 for it. Looking to get $2100 for it. Email me at michael@...

I picked up 2 giant spools of military-grade 2 conductor plus shield from an electronic surplus place for like $50. The spec sheet stuck to end of the spool said it was spec'ed out to work between 125 and 40 degrees below zero. I am cheap with turning the heater on, but not that bad. Seriously thoug...

Yes. Having a piano at our place has helped with business. How much business it has actually brought in is hard to tell, but it definitely gets used a lot. For sure it generates phone calls from it's pictures on the website. I agree that a baby grand is a living room "look at me" type piano designed...

I tend to record a lot of horns and obviously, every horn is different and depending on where you want it to sit in the mix is a large determining factor. With that said, I would definitely start with the ribbon mic. Ribbons are usually figure 8, so if the room sounds really crappy put a gobo or aco...

Someone recently showed me a cool trick for dynamic reverb. If you have a room mic or mics tracked on a drumset for instance, then compressing the drum buss but not the room mic, will yield a larger reverb sound on loud passages, and not so much on tender moments. Conversely, compressing the the roo...

I don't know if vintage jazz is fair game or not here, but had to chime in. I am well aware that at the time, recording technology was sketchy at best, yet some of my all time favorite albums were done during this period. It's funny that Rudy Van Gelder gets the mysterious, voodoo rap that he does ...

Thank you all for the comments. I was trying to give the bass some movement, but certainly wasn't going for nausea inducing madness. After reading these comments, I played around with it for a bit. When I reined in the panning a little it seemed a little more solid, but when I took it away completel...

My wife (being my business partner) and I have had some real up and downs this year. Most have been up, but a few have been down. However, the doors are still open and we are having fun and both doing what we want, and that s what is important. Thus, the responsible thing to do with the money is to ...

Too cute? Humbly request feedback.
I have a mix that I ve been working on that I would love some feedback on. I find that when I m working on my own stuff, I am very easily distracted and sometimes lose sight of where the song wants to go. Anyway, I'm concerned I put a little too much "candy" on it and am wondering if it is distracti...

With all this talk of "in-the-box" versus "out of the box" the cost of a nice mixer is definitely an issue. However, momentarily putting aside the idea that said mixer might have nice pre's or usable EQ, or zero latency headphone options, or whatever, there is one practical matter that rarely seems ...

Or you could go in on the insert return and bypass the pre section altogether. Just less stuff in the signal chain. Depending on the board you may or may not have access to the eq section or whatever, but you should have access to the aux's. (that may be adjustable too. Mine has a jumper that lets y...
