Agreed. Sitting here and reading all about this the past couple of days has made me feel like it would be really, really wrong not to donate something to help these people.sonikbliss wrote:right on. best money I spent in a longtime.

Re: &yet &yet
Wierd, people mention this group now and a while ago it was Broken Social Scene. I don't think i've heard either of them, but my Canadian friend Fiona is friends with all of these people, perhaps i should ask her to be my agent. They've actually been pretty popular for a few years now I would say. ...

Re: &yet &yet
I just keep reaching for it when other stuff is burning me out (flash in the pan indie rock in paticular). DMST are by far one of my favorite bands. I just pulled this record out two nights ago for the first time in awhile because I was bummed out about things in general and it was an instant pick ...

Re: Mogwai's Young Team
I'm no expert, but it seems to me that the Young Team tracks are very dynamic...little use of compression and/or limiting on that record. Because of this and the fact that they were all into the quite/loud thing back then you have to turn the record up a little bit to hear the detail in the quite pa...

Re: vegas -- who likes it?
Man, for some reason that just seems like a pain in the ass to me. I don't understand why the software makers wouldn't just make it an all in one type of thing. Yes, I do use direct X plugs and I'm pretty liberal in the use of cutting and pasteing stuff up while using plugins on those tracks. Seems ...

Question for you Vegas guys...
Just so you know where I'm coming from... I just made the jump to Windows XP and I'm having some kind of issue recording in 24 bit with the software that I currently use. I think it's a driver problem with my Delta 44 communicating with my sorta outdated recording software, SAWpro. Since I'm having ...

Re: Whats a good sound card
never had those problems on the 44 i used .. mac os9.2 733 two HD's 1gb ram.. always seemed like it was built well. . eel are you using it a 24 or 16? i think it sounds better at 16.. That's pretty interesting...I'd like to hear how you came to that conclusion. I've been using a Delta 44 at 24 bits...

Re: calling T-Racks users?
I use it for pretty much exactly what Pandafresh described and I completely agree that it does a great job in that realm. Also, as bluepxl says, it's fun to use on individual tracks before a final mix. All in all, don't believe the haters, it's a great tool for the poor-ass, not really interested in...

I use Sawpro
I use Sawpro, but not studio. I do know a guy who uses it, or at least he used to, and he absolutely loved it. Sorry that I can't be of any help as far as info, but maybe check these resources... http://www.sawstudio.com http://www.sawstudiouser.net I've been considering going to another platform be...

Upgrading my computer, quick question...
A capacitor on my motherboard blew last week and I'm using it as an excuse to upgrade my getting older machine. I'm wondering if processor power is more or less important than RAM? Right now I'm looking at a 2.5 gig processor and only 256 megs of RAM. Should I go higher or do you guys think this wil...

Guitar amp question
Probably a stupid question, bare with me... I play a Tele through a Fender 212 Deville and when I play through the gain channel there is a constant hum that's bordering on annoying when I record. When I play through the clean channel, it sounds as clear as a bell. I've tried adjusting my position wh...

Re: cheap small diaphragm condeser ?
I'll put in my usual plug for the MLX 603s. You could get a matched pair for well under $200. Seems like there aren't many others on this board who like 'em that much, but I tell you...those things sound really good on acoustic guitar. Not so sure about drum overheads, but I've heard many times that...

What about...?
Acid?
At least a few decent sounding acoustic samples/loops that I know of...
Plus they have all those loop libraries which probably have some cool things as well.
