These have been well taken care of. They put out some high volumes with a nice low end. Todd F.

Re: Harddrive question!!!!!PLEASE
We have been using these and have had no problems. Actually they do any computing tasks faster that the regular D2 Lacies. Consolidating etc.

Re: Tom Dowd documentary on Sundance Channel
Great DVD. His story is great. I didn't know about all his accomplishments. He was one of the first to use 8 track machines. Helped design the first faders. No more big round knobs. He worked on research for the atom bomb. Yes really. Lots of great artists that he produced or engineered, that they i...

Yes there are strange rules and such at Paisley Park. The studio hasn't operated as a real open commercial studio for years. It does announce that it is opening from time to time but I don't know many people that actually record there except for insiders. The Linn drum was a big part of the older Pr...

Re: Pultec EQ plug-ins...WOW!
Hi Adam
Yes the Pultec does have a more real analog eq sound. You just aren't able to get as surgical as say the Waves Renaissance EQ, which I like also.
I have used the Focusrite EQ and just end up not using it much. I think the sound was fairly neutral. Not like the Pultec at all.

I am confused about what you are saying. The drive doesn't remember your session information. It either has the data on it or it doesn't. Copying the sessions to another drive, erasing the original drive and then copying the info back to the original drive won't be an issue. I have heard many times ...

Boston (Boston) The first album
I just can't get over how this album had such a great original sound. The guitars, vocals, organ, bass, drums, it all never ceases to amaze me.
The songs don't suck either.

I have a new studio!
Hi Everyone Longtime lurker and poster here. I just wanted to let everyone know I have a new studio to call home. The studio I worked at for 10 years sold their lease and closed. I am now the lucky owner operator of Echo Bay Studios in Minneapolis. I am also lucky to have an API Legacy Plus and a St...

I can't believe the kids these days. Yes bands carry in their own gear but so does everyone working at the studio when the band arrives. You give the band service and make them feel like you care. I do care and so does everyone who I work with. It is a professional attitude that has been passed on o...

Re: Defragmenting Second Hard Drive
If you can just get rid of all the information on the drive by moveing it to another drive. Then it is basically empty and defargged. Then run a disc utility program throught it. I wouldn't defrag a drive with audio files on it. Todd F.
