I've never come across a mixer where the master fader affects the aux sends. What are you currently using? i do not use the aux sends always, so i may be wrong here a bit. but i am positive for instance that on my smaller yamaha it kills the control room sends and what not. i guess i am just used t...

A Speck SSM is about the size of a mACKIE 1604 and is very flexible. But that might be bigger than you'd want.

What mixer do you have that cuts the sends when the master is lowered? That's not a common thing, at least in analog mixers. i am trying to find a mixer on the smaller side. something for a bunch of synths. anyways. almost all small mixers i have run across have like literally everything tied to the master fader. so for instance on most pro or high end audio consoles for live and what not, if you bring the master fader do...

thanks for the info drummerman. lots of good advice.

currently, im giving him stuff that i make, i think the plan is to go back later after he fits it all in, and im gonna edit what i made to have more impact in the film. subtle stuff. who knows though. ill keep you all posted on how things go.

im doing this project in ableton, so stretching and warping things is pretty easy. "And stick with 48kHz, 24 bit, 29.97 drop frame" i am strictly audio at this point. not sure what he is going to give me as far a first draft or anything. i have always recorded 44100 24 bit. should i do this differen...

i think at this point, i convinced him to do what he wants with what i sent him, and he is going to take notes, and we can go from there. he digs what i made today, so that is good.

i would just get a wired mic with a on off switch and call it a day :) grab my master buss and turn it down with my right hand, and grab mic with my left. repeat in reverse and keep jamming :)
