New ep. Indie Folk/Bluegrass

So we just put our ep up on noisetrade if anyone wants to try it out. http://noisetrade.com/thescrips Story behind this... I have an indie rock band called The Southern Sea, but started a side project completely devoted to live performance and acoustic instruments. New territory for me...all around....

Trade 66' Gibson B-25n

Cool little guitar. Needs some work though. Heel needs repair and probably a neck reset, everything else seems to be ok, but I'm no expert. I'm interested in a trade. I'm looking for a good recording interface (Apogee Duet or similar with good quality converters) or I'm looking for a good preamp wit...

DIY Wannabe Needs Electronic wisdom...

Here's the deal. I found a hammond "The Piper" organ on the cheap at a thrift store "$19". It works (at least the parts that I need work). So I'm trying to rob all the good parts to use seperately. What I would like to find out is if this is something worth pursuing or if I'm wasting my time. I'm de...

It was fun, but took longer than anticipated... (which home recording always does i guess). Anyway...if you ...

Re: Our first real EP is here...finally!

Making such a great record with so little to work with is really inspiring. Did you lean on the messageboard for things other than the drum loop trick? I hit message boards a few times, but mostly...reading tapeop really inspires us to try different things. And several songs, went through 3 or 4 co...

Re: Rough mixes seeking harsh criticism.

after a focused listening, I have two things... for philosophy the bass that goes back and forth, from the C to the G, maybe too loud? Based on what else I've played through these monitors, this song seems really heavy on that part. Also, when that picked and doubled guitar part comes in, when the ...
