The answer isn't in a forum. This is why I hate these forums. I hate to be the guy who says things like "these kids today", but these kids today think that they can buy a bunch of "the best" stuff and read a bunch of crap on the internet and suddenly they will be Bob Clearmountain. This is an artisa...

Good attitude. Experiment and decide for yourself. Let us know what your findings are. Oh and your math looks good.

Although in theory I agree with the reasons for using 5K resistors, apparently the reason NYDave recommends 10K is that he has found that they provide the optimal crosstalk to gain loss ratio. Also, trying to find a line amp that's going give you 23db of gain is not nearly as easy as plugging right ...

You are missing some very important parts in the mixer matrix. http://www.twin-x.com/groupdiy/albums/userpics/balancedmixnetwork.pdf This is the only schematic you need. NYDave has designed the definitive circuit. I have built this mixer and it works really well. Yes, you need the resistor across th...

Pan both channels to the center. Flip the phase on one side. Anything that was in the center of the mix disappears. That's all that machine does.

Now now, kids.

Thanks all. As it turns out my suspicions were correct. Mouser sent me FKP2-470/100/2.5 when what I ordered was MKS20-.047/63/5. Damn decimal places....

New package received from Mouser free of charge (though they would not verbally admit fault, whatever).

I allowing for the fact that I got some bad Wimas. The 80Hz rolloff sounds pretty crazy too and that uses the same cap. Mouser is sending me a fresh batch. It's difficult to read a Wima but I think what they originally sent me was 470 pf when what I wanted was .47 uf. Shmuckies...
