FS - Hamptone HVTP2 2 Channel Tube Preamp...SOLD
This HVTP2 was very carefully built by me a couple of years ago and has been used only on my own projects...a few hours here and a few hours there at most. It's really in brand new condition and sounds absolutely great....I always say that the DIs alone on these things are pretty much worth the pric...

Very cool. I've about given up on ever hearing back from TurnMeUp.org. And btw - dt, been spinning your album on the show almost every week. Fantastic record! You guys did an amazing job. I hear you about TurnMeUp.org! I was so wanting to get behind that but it seems to have stalled out....I though...

Thought some folks might find this pretty interesting....
I haven't been around as much as usual lately so I don't know if this has been brought up. Though, I realize "loudness wars" discussions are very played out, I think anything folks can do to counter that stuff is a walk in the right direction. Here's a pretty interesting attempt! It's not just a plu...

This sounds dumb, but I've never had problems getting a decent mic sound when I leave up the condenser I was recording vocals with, with the pop filter in front of it. I record the harp in front of the popfilter about a foot away from the condenser. Sounds like what it sounds like. Not the most cha...

Heh... I was going to say, I hope the "fans" have Auto-Tune and Beat Detective and lots of time to spare. I'm sure any of the stems have been tuned and edited to death already. If not eq'd and compressed. I doubt these are really straight from 'tape'. Yeah, but if I left that up for granted I would...

Marillion did this like six years ago. I've seen Third Eye Blind live. Get out your Autotune and Beat Detective. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC Heh... I was going to say, I hope the "fans" have Auto-Tune and Beat Detective and lots of time to spare. On a side note, that singer dude once got all pissy w...

L2 = gross, caved-in stereo spectrum...and peaky, hard-sounding mid-range IMHO, and the L3 isn't much better. No tranparency at ALL. I agree that just having it in the chain with no reduction is even not cool. If you're working in PT, TOTALLY go for the Massey Limiter. It's very nice and ridiculousl...

Wow.
Lots of choices here.
If it were me on a small budget, I'd pick John Golden. You want credits, you got credits....John has done SO many great records in SO many genres. Plus everyone who works there is an amazing human being.
Good luck with the project!

There's some really good advice here, but I worry a bit about the idea that someone should record something in stereo before they figure out how to do in mono. I used to have such issues with acoustic guitar recording and it seemed like, one day, it just started working. That said, don't subscribe t...
