That's too bad. I wonder which little recorder would handle the higher volume stuff better.... I would be careful and try to test the H2 with a typical situation you plan to record before you plunk down the cash... I have one, I've used it a lot, and there are a couple of issues. With lower sound-pr...

This is a bit of a tangent, but... I have been using Discmaker's "short run" system. They dinged a recent master of mine twice; it was a "gold master quality blank" CD recorded w/ Nero; they said that it appeared I had a burner hardware problem. I did burn as slow as possible. They did accept a mast...

CD-R quality check / burn settings and software
Can anyone recommend inexpensive software / shareware which will do a CD-R quality check? Our CD-R master was just ding'd by DiscMakers, using Eclipse. On a related note, can people recommend CD-R burning settings and/or software that will produce a reliable image? I should note that we are taking t...

Mastering: Lead in time for tracks?
Can anyone comment on whether one should put some lead time at the beginning of a track? Should I trim out everything down to like 1/100 sec before the music starts? Or should I put in a bit more?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thurston Moore - acoustic thing?
Anybody know what Thurston Moore is referring to in this recent interview? ----------------------------------------------------- >> Favorite Piece of Musical Equipment "I think it would be this acoustic guitar pickup that is detached from the acoustic guitar and hangs nakedly by itself and plugs dir...

The human interface is a bit clunky, but it integrates quite well with a windows machine. I used one for a couple purposes; report card below: 1) Attempting to record fairly loud (rock) music in a practice space - couldn't get the pad to go low enough to prevent distortion. Grade: C 2) Recording whi...

EDIT: I'm going to try out the Ebtech Hum X and Hum Eliminator... I'll post results ------------- Actually, I'm not sure what to do about this! I don't think that I want to flip the polarity on the whole amp, because as it stands I don't have other problems with the PA & amp, this amp & other amps, ...

Thanks for the 101 lessons y'all; It's a polarity issue. Neither amp has a polarity switch, so I flipped a 3>2 adapter over yesterday and tried it out - works, no hum. Now I just need to find some polarity reversing 3 prong adapters. Ampeg had the polarity switch in earlier '70's V4-B models, but no...

I'm using 1/4" plug guitar cables for all these connections. As I understand it, the digi 001 should be able to take unbalanced connections in the front two inputs. If I go amp>mixer>digi, I get the hum in the amp - whatever it is, travels right through the mixer. If I go amp>mixer, there's no hum. ...

yep, same circuit; the electrical is all updated and three-wire grounded. I just tried it with another amp's line out and got the exact same thing: loud buzz. So it's not the ampeg's fault... Haven't had any other problems with this digi 001 I should note that the buzz volume is independent of the a...
