Circa 1998. Install CD with hardware dongle. Before I throw it out, wanted to see if anyone wanted it. Pretty useless unless you still run Win95/98. Don't think it would run on XP. Totally old. Totally legit.

Picked up a Mesa Lonestar Special head off Ebay. Looks really clean in the pics. Can't wait until it shows up Monday. Also just picked up a WGS ET65 and dropped it in my little 1x12 cab.

Been a long time since I posted on here. Back in December I got an MXL-990 mod kit with rk-47 capsule from microhpone-parts.com. Ripped out a couple layers of mesh. Turned a free, broken, chinese-made POS into a rather nice mic for acoustic. Haven't tried it on anything else yet.

That sounds like a hardware problem. When my Audiofire 12 stopped being detected, it ended up being the firewire controller. Your problem sounds a little different though. The good thing is was relatively cheap and quick to get it fixed by Echo.

Couple of things to think about that may help you. Audiofire12 does 24bit 192kHz, Mackie only does 96kHz. Mackie has ADAT I/O, Audiofire12 doesn't. Do you need 12 channels of ADC/DAC? Looks like the Mackie only has 8 channels of conversion. Can you bypass the Mackie pre's if you want to use outboard...

I have both a focusrite Octopre and Yamaha MLA8. I find that the Yamaha MLA8 is the cleaner of the two. Doesn't seem too colored. These are supposed to be the same pres as in Yamaha's DM2000 digital board. I tend to use the MLA8 when I want to capture something really clean. But I prefer the Octopre...

Well after spending a lot of time with the demo, I went for it. It's not often I'm willing to spend that much on a plugin for something that's a hobby for me. But I think it's worth it.
