Anyone using an Imac?
Looking at the i7 Quad core and wondering if there's too much if any, fan noise to be used in the control room. Also, since there's only one firewire port, isn't that a problem? I'm using a 002 and several glyph drives and am concerned about the lack of extra firewire ports. Any feedback?

Best Mac upgrade for PT 7?
I;m thinking of upgrading my dual proc.G4 power Mac to a used dual G5 with 8G of ram. The thinking here is I'm looking for more power to use soft synths in recording but don't want to go to PT8 for fear of the never ending plug in upgrade hassles. What's the highest version of OS I can use with PT 7...

Jim - This was a bit of an eye opener. While I get the point clearly, I now feel a bit stuck between ARAAHP. What's prompted my interest in a spec contract is the caliber of studio clients lately. Though I do not earn a living solely from my studio, I have always treated it as a business - never doi...

Studio/Client spec.contracts
Anyone know of a place to download basic studio spec contracts? I've decided to offer my services to a handful of select local musicians/bands whose musical tastes are similar to mine. I'm trying to be diplomatic here....Thinking of packing it in lately due to the high ratio of bad musicians to good...

sudden change in CPU headroom
I've seen a drop in CPU headroom suddenly and am wondering what could be the cause? I was tracking a client yesterday when I started hearing pops n clicks. I checked the CPU usage meter and it was way too high for the amount of plugs I was running ( 1 instance of TL Reverb ). I put the playback buff...

TC Electronic M5000 with Digi 002?
I've gotten my sweaty palms on a M5000 but can't figure how to interface with my Digi 002. I want to stay Digital, tried I/O lightpipe but can't get any signal into the M5000. Anyone got an idea?

The ME was paid and would be co-credited. I'm not into ripping anyone off.He got close to being right with his work on the files but my friend wants a tad less lo-mid and the levels evened out. The ME is too busy to bother with him anymore, or so it seems....... 6 weeks with no call back. There were...

File import at 48/24 or 44.1/16?
I'm trying to help a friend re-master his CD that he recorded in my studio. He had a wicked frustrating experience with a mastering studio, and is over it. We want to take the first version that he got from the Mastering session ( which is close, but no cigar )and import it from his hard drive into ...
