I'm very interested in this myself. Probably my next purchase. I read the 64 card works fine with PT 9, but some users were having issues with the 128 card. The price definitely threw me a little, since it has 24 channels ad/da and review-wise is (alledgedly) on par with the Lynx Aurora/Apogee/Digi ...

my 2 cents of advice... 1) take the internship. it's not just about getting 'hands on'. its the ears on and eyes on that is valuable. techniques. interactions. situations. experience. 2) don't bitch about interning. we don't care that all you did/do is mop floors and take out the trash. everyone in ...

Thanks for the tips guys. Especially, GIK and realtraps... I know posting here will always get me pro advice ;) I had a feeling diffusion treatment might be kind of hopeless in a room this small. I ran that pink noise test mp3 and found bass building-up quite a bit near the ceiling over the mix posi...

room treatment continues... (what's next?)

Hi guys. I've received good advice here before, so I'm back for more. I mix in a 11'X10' room with 8ft ceilings. Yup, almost perfectly square - the best shape room possible for music! . I've got large 4" thick (703) bass traps in the four corners. The back and front wall are currently bare. W...

If you see drastic peaks in your mixes, you could probably work on your individual tracks in general (as the previosu poster advised). A "good" mix tends to 'look' even, especially in the loud sections, and NOT like the spine of a fish ;) You don't want to exceed ZERO or you will start getting clips...

the main output's were plugged into the patchbay (just open points, not normalled to anything).

I'm so glad I figured this issue out. It sucks working in an environment where you know something is "a little off", but not sure what exactly.

This is a follow-up post answering my question (to help people in the future). It wasn't the Massey plug causing the distortion. Basically, any mastered (ie. loud) audio played in Protools would cause this problem. I found another forum where someone had the same problem using PT and the Digi002R, a...

is this comparable to 703?

I read somewhere that this is comparable to 703. Anyone know if this is true? It apparently costs HALF as much as 703.

I love those weird ghost sounds. I get them mostly on guitar tracks. Sometimes it's only noticeable when I've got a couple different tracks stacked together. It's so cool when simple guitar distortion or string noise can accidentally sound like a human whispering something, or a faint shriek, or a c...
