For bypass you must either use a preamp that has its own converters and use S/PDIF in to the Firepod...
OR, in the analog realm you need to get an insert cable and only use the "back to the insert" 1/2 of the cable and leave the other 1/2 unplugged.
Plugging in to the "line in" uses the preamps.

I went to Guitar Center (it was a sunday) to get to sm57's... And was offered a couple of Audix mics as an alternative. I bought them like a dipshit. Then realized 15 minutes into trying to get a guitar sound that they werent my cup of tea... Brought them back to exc for 57's after the session and w...

My first real studio gig was Headfirst Media in Louisville, KY.... Old factory building complete with stories of people falling into machinery and shit... When I first started I had lied that I had any experience wt ProTools, so I would try and stay after the session to learn shit.... around 1:30 / ...

Did you possibly group the items together by hitting "G"? To see if you did: select the item that you are trying to delete and hit "U" to Ungroup it, or right click on the item, GROUP>"select all of selected items groups" Then hit "U" to ungroup all of the items in the group Then see if you can dele...

Thanks for being kind to the noob nate! {EDIT} OK I am REALLY a NOOB. I set the meter to 150ACV and bridged the wires that connect to the switch... Got a reading of 100V Then I googled, learning that the formula for determining amps is: Amps = Watts / Volts I apologize in advance, but how do I deter...

Amp ratings for AC switches
The on / off switch on my recording interface (Presonus Firepod) stopped working and I have been trying to find a replacement. The original one (PRONIC T85?), that is broken is a simple switch (2 connections=SPST?) I assume that it simply breaks the connection between the two wires... Its rated at 5...

btw, the intuitive thing is VERY important. Pro Tools (Nuendo I'm guessing) should be the jumping off point FOR ALL OTHER software writers. It shows lack of knowledge of the competition for a software program to come in from left field and expect to take over the industry (I'm guessing Reaper would...

"@?,*???&?" A major concern with the groups is that you need to have the faders all high-lighted to have the group active. If I unhighlight them, then the group is inactive. Moving to another group creates more confusion. Once I create a balance of say, 3 tracks, I don't want to have to keep toggli...

1. Poor Grouping It now has really good flexible grouping... as of...v2.5 2. Click the mouse on a channel line fader makes the fader jump to that position. God, that is woefully dangerous. IN one accidental move, there goes your balance!!! Ctrl-Z, or pay attention to what you are doing. 3. Confusio...

How is reaper at recording lots of tracks at one time? Various reports of issues concerning this have concerned me. No problems recording 16 tracks @ 24 / 44.1 through 2 Firepods chained together. I have been on the Reaper forums for about a year now, and have never heard about anyone having proble...
