worth the dough, yup.

Cool. The SHR840's fit my big 'ol skull & ears, comfortable for loooooong hours. The sound strikes me like the AKG K240 family way more than the Yamaha V and MDR range, if that makes sense. Seems I'm getting a pretty wide, balanced behaviour overall, nice low & upper-mid detail to dig into. More lik...

I've mixed stuff in client's houses/etc with RP5's, and I reckon I'm lucky to've been mixing for a zillion years now... so I DON'T want to sound like a know-it-all-- 'cos I'm not! But I guess I've sort of internalized how stuff will translate (t...

anybody use these Shure SRH840 'phones, reviewed in new 'op?

I've always had a hezzle of a time finding somewhat neutral sounding 'phones that fit my apparently abnormally fat skull & ears.... I LOVE the sound of yer basic akg k240's, mostly since I'm so used to them and they're fairly comfy. But after an hour or two, I gotta quit 'cos my external ear bits hu...

You'll have an easy time goin back and forth. Though PT 8 does look a little different than 7.x on both LE and HD, so you might want to get into vs. 8 when you can. I take LE sessions into HD and back all the time, and your sessions will just give you a prompt when you open 'em on whichever other ve...
