Isn't that the drummer's job? Yeah, what's up with that? I'd be pissed if someone did that to my drumming. I'd be pissed to have my name associated with out of time, trashy drumming. One day, the engineer at the studio my old band was recording at brought me over to the mixing desk to talk to me ab...

Why not, may I ask?

Maybe it's too ironic to be a good dither.

Can Bomb Factory's Funk Logic Materizer be used as a dither signal? Like, of course it's audible, but on purpose.

Isn't that the drummer's job? Yeah, what's up with that? I'd be pissed if someone did that to my drumming. Well, actually, that did happen before. And I was pissed. On the inside. On the outside, I didn't care, 'cause it was a don't-give-a-fuck kind of band, anyhow. So I didn't give a fuck. But the...

The Gain AudioSuite plug-in let's you check the peak level of any highlighted region, which let's me raise the volume all the way up to zero without normalizing or playing the entire track to check for peaks. The Massey shit seems to be popular. And for good reason. That limiter is fucking dangerous...

Oh My GOD

Dude, my Mac just created 4,398 Pro Tools session file copies... all of which are locked. Does anyone know how to erase all those without having to do each one, one at a time???

Uh, I don't think you can load your own samples in there. But the samples of the default kit sound pretty good, but may not be what you're looking for.

I wrote an entire drum part using GarageBand and EZ Drummer. Down to the finest detail. I even randomized on my own the velocity of most of the hits.

No maps or default anything. I only did it really well once, though.

Is there a way to find out the attack and release times for the Bomb Factory plug-in that comes with Pro Tools.

I know the guide gives you the entire range, but I'm curious to know that the settings are for their own presets, "Pump" and "All Buttons In."

Thanks for all the replies.

What I really wanted to know is if the computer/program takes a kind of "shortcut" to produce the results in real-time as opposed to the "wait-and-see" aspect of letting the computer/program process the file in its entirety.

Real Time or AudioSuite?

What produces a better sound? When you process things in real-time? Or when you process the file?

I don't know about other bands, but I would never "do it myself" to record something that I'd be putting out there as an album. Thank you. You are the voice of reason here! Some bands are delusional. My old band was. We recorded (at a legit studio) way before we were ready, and we were together 3 y...
