Thanks. Would it make sense for caps of different values to be labeled 'mial 1000 5%'? those are 1000pF polystyrene caps they are all of the same value. Only the caps with the yellow holders should be suspect on a first inspection. Those are the Aluminium Electrolytic capacitors, they dry out over t...

the farfisa's are pretty easy to fix, i've fixed a few in the past. Like any combo organ the sound is produced by a fixed oscillator for every note (12 in total) and all the harmonics are produced by octave dividers. That means that only the highest note is made and all lower notes are derived from ...

that pot is a probably a log pot in the schematic it also says 50kA. But check if your pot is a alpha or alps and then check their convention to be sure. The schematic can be found on the symetrix site http://www.symetrixaudio.com/kb/501_sch.pdf the size of the pot is the same as the alpha 16mm ones...

Hi, since the manual states that the power supply is in the unit itself, the only thing you need is a wallwart transformer that outputs 12v AC and a matching connector. And if you can't find a matching connector you could replace the 5/6 prong thingie with a 4 pin xlr or something like that. Wouldn'...

just reading the last few replies. I forgot to mention that i run my fender twin (it's a red knob "the twin" version) with the 2 middle power tubes removed which brings the 100 or so watts down to 65 watt. That in combination with a 100 / 25 watt switch that's on the amp, makes the amp switchable fr...

Hiya, for clean boost i really like my Carl Martin Boost-kick, it's a boost pedal with a 3 band eq on it. When turned on without any boost or cut your guitar just sounds "better". It has a very large range of boost and it is perfect for getting subtle overdrive to nice crunch from my fender twin. Al...

it really depends on the state of the organ. If it's and old one in dire need of some tlc you'll probably get it down by an substantial amount. But i don't think you can get it to go away completely. All the farfisa's i've heard had the whirring some more than the other but none had no whirring. i d...

favorite snare mic

Hi everybody, i was wondering what everyones favorite snare mic is. and what do you use to process it. My favorite combo at the moment is shure sm56a on top and a sennheiser md441 on bottom. the sm56a has a nice bright top end which i really like especially if you bring it out with a good eq. and th...

hiya, i don't do any audio on a mac but on pc you just drag and drop the .dll files into you vst folder. I can imagine that on the mac it might be the same. this is copy pasted from the download page from the fishfillets page: Installation: Unzip the archive, copy the plugin file into your '\vstplug...

hi, I've got an md441 here in front of me. The good news is the whole mic is one triumph of design and will come apart if you remove just 1 screw. (it's the one underneath the silver plate with the eq pattern on it) But the bad news is that if you need to secure the pin, you'll need to dissassemble ...
