wow what a great list!
Just a heads up to whoever moderates this. Purple isnt offering the 76 kit anymore. DANG I wish I had known previously because it wasn't too pricey.
i was looking at the 7th circle before, but having worked on an actual Quad 8 I am leaning towards one or two of those now.

10 bit? I thought the original quadraverbs were 16bit. The Q2 being a noisy 20bit. More ON topic. I have seen a reverb/delay feedback with the sound system and maybe some kind of aliasisng effect and cause a singers voice to go flat. But not subtly, it was like the voice of satan coming out of a ski...

whne I was stuck on 4 tracks for drums I would mix everything except for snare and kick to 2 tracks. then 1 each for kick and snare. If the drums are going to stay un reverbed I would stick the kick and snare on one track together (after some pre-EQing and pre-comping). mono OH and stereo toms. If t...

Hmmm Discmakers I have never considered to be very cost effective. I know they have a lot of plusses like free artwork and mastering, UPC etc. But I really just need a barebones CD. I am wary of CDR for a number of reasons. Not the least of which is that they DO DIE. I have already witnessed known g...

wow see I was actually hesitant to take the jump on building one of those because I doubted my abilities. I guess I still think of myslef as that 8th grader that couldnt solder sometimes? I'm actually pretty good now. What did you do for the racking? did you go with his chassis or something else? I ...

It's kind of funny how people keep coming back to the same small stable of records he did 10-15 years ago. I mean, Cobain was good, not great. But by the same token. On Jesus Lizard dick much Steve? now wonder Yow thinks your a  but yeah, it gets way funnier when he starts talking in haiku and...

My old punk band used to regularly play at a certain northern california venue. We had gotten to the point where we could pretty much book what we wanted as long as at least 100 or so folks showed up and we got decent bands to headline. We had a good show booked with a headliner much bigger than us....

I guess I am in a diferent world entirely over here in PC land but what I usualy do is record two tracks (not stereo 2 mono) of the same signal. One direct, one from the hardware compressor. Other times I simply copy a track and compress/limit the new track. I use Sonar 6.2.1 which is pretty well de...

er uh live sound? Man where do I start? 1 There was the Mentors gig at the Nightbreak in SF where Il Duce just wobbled up on stage sat down and mumbled into the mic for 45 minutes. The band (I am not sure if any of them were original members) kind of played some songs but without any lyrical support...

about snocap, I did a focus group with them. Their terms can be onerous. Read all the fine print. I think they have one of those minimum payout things. OTOH they do help you get your publishing sorted out in other markets. But about touring to support a record. I predict its gonna die out soon. It h...

Keep em coming... this is good for me as I start formulating my list for the first board meeting.. I dunno, I find that if you properly budget and if you dont waste time at meetings in pissin...

(what is it about white british guys and the blues idiom?) *prattles on for six paragraphs about England in the 1950s, white America's ignorance of blues, sailors bringing blues records to the UK, deletes it all* oh I know the history, John mayal etc, It's just ironic that Vaughns and Winters notwi...
