Beautifully written Tony.
I'll always remember the bit from his TapeOp interview where he said he kept a stupid picture of a horse wearing sunglasses and a beanie right by the studio door, it always made him laugh so he was always smiling when he opened the door.

Re: Video Overdubbing Software
Yeah you need VLC installed. Just look on youtube, there's a couple vids that show you what to do to get it up and running, it's simple. And you can edit the video track just like audio, apply effects, etc. If your video needs are relatively simple you can probably do everything you need right in Re...

Re: Drum OH's, only
I've always gotten great results from an m160 over by the drummer's right shoulder, aimed at the snare. Gets a nice blend of the whole kit, a nice low mid thump from the kick. Takes compression and eq really well. That and a kick mic is a great two mic setup.

Re: Tell us about your 2023 wrap-up
I'd much rather be at home with my wife and our cat. Same. We have very little desire to go out and see shows any more, I think we maybe saw one show all last year, and we left early. Anyway I haven't added anything up yet, but I'm pretty sure last year was my best ever, if not it was very close, a...

Re: delivery resolutions for digital
Yeah there's no point to upsampling, send stuff to your ME at whatever rate the session is at. 24 bit or 32 bit float files. As for final delivery, I'll give people whatever they want. Gotta say though, for the final thing, 16 bits is perfectly 100% fine, unless your music has more than 96db of dyna...

More likely I'd just overdub some killer riffs.

Re: Embedding RIFF tag info in wav files / Sirius XM upload guidelines?
I don't even know what RIFF tags are, but if you just need the ISRCs and barcodes added into the metadata of the wavs, I can do that for you in Wavelab in like 2 seconds. I'm around all day today, just PM me if this would be helpful.

Re: Amp Closet Soundproofing in 3rd Floor Attic
I don’t know if you’ve tried a solution like this, but I gave up on the idea of a cab in the house…I plug my amps into a Two Notes Torpedo Live and record direct. Best of both worlds, imho. I use the UA OX (similar product) and I'm super happy with the results. +2. I have my amps on Bugera power so...

Re: What amp are folks putting behind NS-10Ms?
I used to use a Rotel RB1080, worked totally great, no problems ever. If it wasn't currently powering our living room stereo I'd sell it to you cheap, but you can find them on reverb for well under 1k.
