WTT: AKG 414 B-XLS *like new* for Mac Mini (intel)

I have an AKG 414 B-XLS in very nice condition and I want an Intel Mac Mini for a project I am working on. Depending on the specs of the Mac Mini, we can work out a deal with some extra cash on either side. IE: If it is a top end Mac Mini (C2D 2.0Ghz, 2GB Ram) I could throw in some extra cash. Thank...

I have been wanting to try this for a while. Finally got some 414's but I just haven't had the chance yet.

I've been recording a lot of acoustic lately and have had to do lot's of tweaking, still not really finding the sound I want.

Thanks for the inspiration :)

Nice!

I once wondered if there was anything like this. Then I kinda ran out of money and stopped checking because I would usually fall for their tricks and get stuff I didn't need..

Now that the constant reminder is there I have no worries of saving up too much money.

Thanks!!! haha

Yeah, I have been scared to play with it, the only way I would be able to figure it out is to plug it in and play with the pot while monitoring the mic. Definitely wouldn't want to risk it.

Thank you.

trim pot in AT 4040

Hello all, I was taking apart my AT 4040 today and noticed that there's a little pot inside, but I have no idea what it's for. I've looked at all the documentation for it and can't find anything about it. Do you think it is just to control how much the pad on the mic is, or for the bass roll-off, or...

You can easily do a pre/post send switch on the fly. I've been wanting to be able to do this for a while!! How do you do it, I've searched a lot about it and found nothing...[/quote Just click the send you want, and in the floating window that opens there is a "pre" button that you can click that w...

I wouldn't use PTLE for recording a live show. You ever recorded multiple tracks on LE for over an hour? Reliably? Probably not. I do mobile recording and record all the time with Pro Tools LE usually between 60 and 90 minutes all the time, never had a problem. Just make sure that your screensaver ...

yeah, i just hadn't seen anything like it, and at first thought it was a bad case of DC offset, but now realize it is just a real low frequency waveform.

well, little blips of that form were in the cello, but it looked more like a sine wave that was always touching the center line, not like those that go well past it. There were no effects on any of the parts, but i did the high pass, and it looks much better and the bass thumps are gone. problem sol...

I just put a high pass at 150Hz on all the cello parts and it definitely helped. I can't hear the thump anymore, and the waveform looks a lot more normal.

Thanks for all the help! I love this forum.

Well, it looked like that in pro tools too, i just happened to open it in peak to take the picture. yeah, i'm going to go back and look at the cello parts and play around with a high pass or DC offset. but i didn't think it was that since it still centers around the center line.
