Thanks so much everyone. I like Nick A's method; that's a nice alternative to the straight bounce. The marker method really helps as well. I wound up just click dragging the selection (to highlight the portion to bounce), and then following theBounce to Disk submenu. This helped me make a quick boun...

Exporting audio mixdown from Digital Performer
Hello. I'm a PC and Cubase user. I'm not too familiar with Macs and have little to no track time in DP. What I want to do is simply bounce down a song to 2track wav. file from a DP session. In the tracking window I have four hunks of 17 track content that I'd like to do a 'rough mix' of in the box, ...

How'd the warming party go? Wish I could've been there. I was running sound til one am that night. After that 7 hour session I was toast. I interned with Phelps, and help construct his short lived Hawthorne Bridge Recording studio. Good to know he's working in a hot place now and with a Trident! Don...

Have either of you looked into to the basement rehearsal spaces in the Rotture? I haven't rented from them in years, however when I did I was satisfied that there were definetly pockets of quiet time down there. Times when no one else was making a loud racket. I actually had several successful recor...

The right laptop for a mix on the go?
I'm going to be away from my home studio for a month. I'm looking into purchasing an inexpensive, but robust enough lap top that can handle editing and mixing audio. My price range = $300.00 - $400.00. I'm running Cubase 5 with Waves Platinum plug-ins. There are twelve songs to mix each of varying t...

What to charge per song for session work?
I've been offered work to rehearse and record five songs on the drum kit with an under the radar indy band. It will be a 'one-off' gig; just rehearsing the songs, then recording them. I've toured with and played many a one-off live gigs and studio recordings on the drum kit for indy bands that range...

Thanks to all of you for your input. It seems to me that this particular stereo Focusrite pre is not the one for me. The unit I was looking at was going for $450.00. That's not really a 'deal' is it? I may as well just continue to be patient, and save money and hold out for the day I'll be aligned w...

Focusrite Twin Track mic pre?
Hello, Does anyone have a Focusrite TwinTrack mic pre? I'd like some user feedback from the Tape-Op crowd. I'd like to have a class A stereo pre to bus master mixes into from digi land to breath some analog life force into. I have my heart set on a UA 2-610, however, I've got some sessions approachi...

Mbox mini will work if you're importing wav. or .aiff files or what have you, into your mac. If you're tracking to tape and looking to dump into a DAW direct from tape you'll need as many simultaneous inputs from your DAW's interface as you have tracked to tape. Assuming you're dumping your tape tra...
