so there is no way to record/monitor in protools with another interface while the mbox or micro are plugged in? that makes everything really inconvenient except the "profire lightbridge" It would be a huge pain to have to switch my monitors (Adam A7s) back and forth or just use headphones. I thought...

the mbox micro seems to be a good compromise between the two other options. the DV toolkit is so expensive! Is there any way around this, IE a way to get the tracks from logic to show up separated and in their right locations, as well as having MTC sync'd, without soloing individual tracks and bounc...

How to use PT after I sell my Digi003r
I hate protools. I hate that I have to use only their interfaces, which I also hate. Anyway... I want to sell my digi003r for an RME Fireface 800 or an Apogee Ensemble. But I am concerned about people wanting to use protools, which happens rarely but I'd rather not miss any opportunities for work. I...

i'm using the awful digi 003 so I can still use protools even though I hate protools and this interface. I'm thinking about just getting a super cheap mbox and a different main interface, as well as figuring out how to export files from logic in a readymade format (pts?) so I could open then in prot...

Hopefully I'm going to use it for everything... LDCs because they benefit the most from a nice preamp IMO. if I'm tracking multiple things at once (probably as the center overhead pre for glyn johns). Vocals and acoustic guitar - natural acoustic sounds also benefit greatly from a smooth, natural fu...

im really happy with the great river. it was my first and sounds great on just about everything. I agree with the GR. I have three of the pres in your list ( GR, L-3, Biz, )...All are good. The GR I think, would be my first choice if I had to start over. The Biz sound good on most stuff, but you di...

I'm jealous I'd go with my normal set up, which is glyn johns with mismatched overheads, a ribbon on kick, and a 441 on snare. It sounds awesome Then I would put up some ribbon mics, but not just anywhere, because a little movement makes a big difference especially because of the parallel walls in r...
