Re: Organization: shelves vs cabinets vs drawers vs hooks
I sort of use all of the above. My basement studio was formerly a basement apartment so some of the kitchen cabinets get used for guitar pedals and odds and ends. I also have two large heavy duty shelves that I got from Home Depot. One has a bunch of stuff on it and the other is dedicated to guitar ...

Re: Standalone portastudios
At one point my interface and computer died and I was so tired of dealing with computers that I bought a Korg D3200 and used that for a couple of years. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with backing up files, but you can mix internally and burn a CD. I also thought the preamps and built in ef...

Re: Reverb for Drums (Analog Tascam 388)
I haven't used these on live drums, only drum machines, but I've had good results with the Tech21 Boost RVB, TC Hall of Fame and the Boss RV-500. The RV-500 is in my opinion a phenomenal pedal and you can do simultaneous reverb and delay. You can even have two separate reverbs going. The Hall of Fam...

Re: Budget Boom Vocal Mic Stand Recommendation
Definitely not pro level, but in the I really need some cheap stands quickly I was short a couple of booms and purchased a couple of Hola boom stands on Amazon. I'd never heard of them, but they had good reviews and were maybe a smidge more expensive than the On Stage stuff. I've only used them for ...

Re: What musical thang didja work on today/night?
Last night, but I got the rare opportunity to track my band. I don't usually get to do this because I don't really have a live room, but a friend of mine just built an awesome jam room at his new house and was kind enough to let us try recording in it. It was a lot of work to pack up all the crap yo...

Re: Too much equipment. Trim down?
Thanks for the suggestions. I may try GC, or Sam's Ass for an item, or two. I just dropped off a couple of guitars to my brother-in-law/luthier to do some work on before I let them go so that's at least a start.

Re: Too much equipment. Trim down?
I like to give my excess gear to the local battered women house that has a thrift store to raise funds to sustain itself. Whenever I go back to the store, none of my sh!t is ever still there. Also, I just saw this smilie that me me chuckle... :high: That's a really awesome idea. It's funny that I s...

After years of looking I finally found a Harmony H165 mahogany acoustic. From what info I can find I think it's mid 50's. Found it on craigslist but it turns out the seller is a friend of mine. Got it for a song but it's going to need a bunch of work. I'm still pretty stoked though. I bet that's go...

I've got an Allen & Heath WZ20:8:2 from my ADAT days. I thought it was a pretty cool little board and set up well for eight tracking. Wow. I Just checked out the WZ20:8:2 and it looks... awesome . Though my interpretation of the specs may not be totally up to speed, it seems to have most of what I'...

Not sure what they are using there, but my favorite Flangers that I've used are the EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress and the Digitech FX-75B. The digitechs pop up really cheap. They can usually be had for 25-50 bucks. I don't own any phaser pedals, but I do have a big honking Maestro Phase that's totall...

Got some GC gift cards for the holidays so I celebrated the last day of the year by buying a Novation Circuit. So far I'm really digging it. I only just got to start playing with it about an hour and a half ago, but I got totally lost in it and I am already picking up the basics pretty quick. I can'...
