Re: Need some fresh electric guitar recording ideas

... or more otherness and 2.) some interesting signal chains or mixing ideas that might set us on the path to audio magic. That's what we need: sound magic. Got any to spare? Okay, call me crazy but hear me out. Put the ribbon in front of one speaker of a 2X12 cabinet, put a peice of sonotube (the ...

Is chorus REALLY necessary on the bass? Yes, in this case it absolutely did. Turned out that placing one compressor before the chorus to tame the odd notes and then using kdarr's tactic of matching the threshold to get just the right amount of "pump" which the bass player (me  ) wasn't able t...

Bass track: Compress before or after a chorus or both?

I've got an electric bass track with a medium heavy chorus effect applied to it. Prior to the chorus, I've inserted a compressor to even out the louder notes of the performance a bit, but I'm still not happy with the sound totally. Had to lock up and go home before I could try much else so here's th...

i sample a lot of vinyl. so if i normal my turntable to a sampler sequencer, i wouldnt need to patch them together, saving a patch cable. now if i wanted to patch the turntable to another sequencer, or tape deck, i could just use patch cables for that. but 99.999999999% of the time i feed sampler 1...

For instance, my recorder outs, which appear on the top row of a bay much like yours, are normalled to my mixer line inputs, which appear on the bottom row of that same bay. That way I never have to use a patc...

Clearance for artwork. Is there a standard form?

Hi all, A local artist has found a picture that he would like to use as front cover art for his new CD. The photographer has been contacted and is amenable to the artist using the shot for free, so long as attribution is given. Is there a standard form available somewhere to facilitate the copyright...

Hi all, I don't but rarely post here, since what I have to say is usually said first, and more concisely than I could, by others. This topic happens to be one that I can speak with experience about so here goes. I've been doing this for years trying to get lightning and atmospheric sounds. I usually...

I've been very happy lately with a CAD KBM412 underneath my floor tom.
I don't use a resonant head on mine, so you may get different results, but it's sure working for me.

Since your Bassman fifty is capble of putting out fifty watts (thus the "50' in the name") and you've got two twenty-five watt speakers in the cabinet, I'd say you'll be fine at anything up to ten on the amp.
