Well to be honest, I checked the dB with an iphone app called "decibel meter" or something. It was probably wrong when it said my $100 casio keyboard was coming through at 80dB. I think I'll invest in a decent decibel meter.

I've been hearing in multiple places that you should have the volume at 85db when you mix. I used my decibel meter to see how loud 85db is exactly. It seemed pretty quiet actually. im having a bit of trouble keeping the snare drum at the same volume throughout the song with the same kind of intensity like i hear in alot of recordings. im using an sm57 on the top and a pg48 on the bottom (low budget). anybody know how to fix this with either plugins or mic placement or whatever...

so i just got my firepod and i cant seem to get it to have 8 channels on nuendo it only gives me presonus firepod stereo (left or right channel)
