I'm a bit in love with all the JB drum sounds, but in particular 'Papa Don't take No Mess' & 'The Big Payback'.

Don't know how you feel about modeling hardware, but I've seen and heard people doing amazing things with the Line6 DL4, both live and in the studio. They've been making them since 2000 too, so there ought to be a few second hand models floating about if you fancied experimenting ...

http://www.wah-wah.co.uk/ In the DIY section on adding true bypass it details eliminating the input buffer. You can also change one resistor to increase gain (useful once the buffer is gone). I'm not really a wah guy but I wound it more useful with the buffer gone and the gain juiced a bit. http://...

If you got the time / inclination it might be worth punching a few cat numbers into http://www.discogs.com You can list stuff for sale, and pay no fee to discogs until it sells (which could be a while obviously) - an advantage over ebay at least. It's grown up as a mainly dance orientated site, but ...

I've had pretty good luck using the dreaded spring clips. I just now thought of this, though. Maybe you could try cutting some strips off of one of those rubber jar opener thingies and wrap it around the mic before using the spring clips. As an aside, I was told that Norelco made the bodies for the...

Talking of the Casio MT series, this has to be one of the most tastefully executed examples of circuit bending I've ever seen!

Soundcloud & Mixcloud working well for me as places to stream tracks / mixtapes and link to via facebook & twitter. Most get a few reTweets and FB 'Likes' which spread them a bit further and add to friends / fans / followers on FB & Twitter. Only takes the odd one to get linked up on hypemachine or ...

For my UK peoples, these have been getting good reviews : http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Belcat-DLY-503-Delay-Pedal/B71 This seems to have crap reviews on Amazon, but I really enjoyed as an overview of the classic studios : http://www.amazon.com/Temples-Sound-Inside-Recording-Studios/dp/0...

Sorry to dig up an old post, I've got a pair of these too - the 818 set - cheap on ebay, but without the stands / clips. Been using them alot recently, loving them on guitar, and even hanging down the back of my recently acquired (and still not properly tuned) upright piano. But the more I use them,...

Lovely version! I could listen to that tune all day, with either Steve or Eric singing it :D Without pouring fuel on the fire (so to speak) could there be an edit at 1:42? The right hand just doesn't seem hit the bottom E with enough attack to correspond with the big twang on the audio. But it could...

I would use a momentary pushbutton instead of a toggle. It'll only kill the signal when you're actively pressing the button. You can switch more quickly and with less effort. KNow of any off hand that would work with guits? I always fancied putting one of these sort of buttons on a guitar, for that...

thenapking - as you're in the UK, I guess you've seen these guys? http://www.mytapeecho.com/page/831237 Never used them myself, but they do explicitly state that the tape is self-lubricating etc as per og Roland specs ...
