for what it's worth---- those two amps couldn't be more different. the RI is a channel switching diode based amp. closer to a jcm900. think russian circles. the original model is something closer to a fender bassman / hiwatt dr103 / marshall jtm45. big, jangley, dirty. VERY different.... owned both....
