Have you tried re-seating the opamps in the channels? Did this a while ago for a AMR and it brought dead pre's back to life. Or swap it for a known working one. It could be a simple fix. Best of luck. JP Still using my Soundtracs Topaz 32! However, over half of the preamps have died over the last 10...

Hey,
The designer of the NitePro is now the man over at Maag audio. Also there was a pile of cloning going on over on Group DIY. You will likely find support over there as well.
Best of luck.

St31 aka Groove Tubes "convertible" I love mine as overheads live and pointed right at the snare.

Pretty sure that is Sterling. I have a pair that I like for live overheads with a kick 602 and snare i5 which as a package makes life real easy. Aim them right at the snare and bring the i5 in just enough to accent. GT made them for Sterling (not sure if the relationship is the same since Fender bou...

Well that didn't totally work as expected. Sound was fine but discovered mid event that the effx returns were mirrored so was unable to play with the panning. (Who does that? Gang the return pans? ) Too late to get into the brain and undo without risk to the event. Did use short plate, hall ...

I'm thinking there has to be a 12 step program for that. And hoping I can someday sign up. :D

How well does the wood rope tension on that snare? And by that pic you don't have much for wood hoops any reason?

Thanks Nick, That really helps me understand where the stereo feed came from and it totally makes sense about providing a listener a sense expereince that is familiar to how they listen naturally. Something I have been consciously doing for years and now you have reinforced the concept and given the...

Nick, that was a wonderful insight and inspiring to a verb junky such as myself. Looking forward to applying and personalizing this technique. One item I'd appreciate clarification on, if you don't mind. Where you write, "Each reverb gets a Stereo Send from each instrument that will use them, and yo...

Peavey 520i Larger dynamic similar to a SM7 or Re20. (Note "similar" no claims on replacements for.) You can remove some of the internal screen for vocal duties. Lovely on Kick and Amps. I haven't paid more than $75 for either of mine. I've been watching for some EV BK1's as well. Hand held condenso...

Bought the original kit and built it with my kids 6-12. My 10yr old has the most fun with it and he is starting to get into Abelton so who knows what he'll come up with. Easy enough build and great fun twisting knobs. The newer version has some nice upgrades to the first (which is still update-able....

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate you took the time to share those. I have always gotten the sense that as a technician you are a get the gear out of the way so I can listen to music and the little snippets I just listened to had that quality in spades. In the context I am very impressed by the indivi...

Jim,
I would love to hear some of your recordings in context with some of the gear you talk about on the boards. Would be an interesting exploration, I think. Any way or place you could give a link to?
Utmost respect,
