ISO NYC guitar player which a penchant for odd sounds

We just got our first date booked at the Hook in Brooklyn for Sept 17, and 2 days later our lead guitarist and bass player told us they're moving back to California. So we're pretty desperately trying to fill the holes... I can play bass in a pinch so it's mostly guitar I'm worried about. We play al...

Re: Studio G brooklyn intern wanted

I was the last intern at Studio G... besides the fact that Joel is a complete egomaniacal tyrant (God forbid his Pad Thai isn't spicy enough), it really is a great place to intern! You learn a whole whole lot and get to be around some VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and TALENTED people ALL THE TIME.

No problem Joel, we can try out this fab new foot massage oil I bought as well. It smells like apricot and will leave your feet feeling like the smoothest velvet! Dan, the thing is though... not that I know ANYTHING, but I really did learn alot there... that's the "you get what you put into it" aspe...

Re: If you're thinking about attending SAE in NY,this might

Jason, I don't have a paying job now, so school didn't help one bit! When I did my career assitance meeting thing they asked me what I was looking for, and I told them unless it's something decent paying, I wasn't interested because I love the internship I have. They told me they usually only are ab...

Re: If you're thinking about attending SAE in NY,this might

Heh, yeah... I should frame my stained drawers from the Bloodshot night and give it to the studio as a gift.

But thanks for the nice words... I've said it a million times but I couldn't have found a better environment to learn in than Studio G and from you and Tony... you both have been way too kind!

If you're thinking about attending SAE in NY,this might help

I've just completed the Audio engineering course at SAE in NY, and just thought I'd share my experience with the place for anyone interested in attending. Before I'd attended, I did alot of online research about the school, and usually just came across people making blanket statements that "It's awe...

Re: Digi 002 problems?

My 002R started konking out a bit the other day.... it wouldn't power up all the way... sort of like it was sticking. I left it for a few hours and powered on and since then it's been fine. Also the power cable didn't connect tightly right out of the box... had to use duct tape to make it secure.

Re: Tips on getting Boy Band style vocals... no, I'm not kid

Thanks again everyone for all the great tips and advice... not sure how close I'm getting to the actual Backstreet Boys sound... I just cant get everything so big and shiny and clean and perfect.... but the song is turning out appropriately awful, so I'm happy.

Yeah, I read the various boards often enough to know better than to post this question on recpit :)

Thanks for the tips everyone so far.... in 20 mins I'm already closer to where I want to be than I was after 5 hours of trying to figure it out on my own.

Tips on getting Boy Band style vocals... no, I'm not kidding

Hi, This is probably a horrible way to introduce myself to posting rather than just lurking, but I've never seen advice on this before and I get such great info from this board I figured I'd ask... I'm working on a sort of Backstreet Boys spoofy kind of thing, and trying desperately to get vocals to...
