I concede that this is possible, but if so, it still doesn't mean that they can't improve the new ones to match the tone quality of the old ones.calaverasgrandes wrote:I would concur. They simply CAN'T make tubes like they used to, no matter how hard they try. Part of what makes buying used vintage tubes (as long as they test high of course) is that not only do they have superior tone, but they also have a much longer lifespan than any new tube. Recapping my hifi and found some oddly marked Sanyo caps. They are marked as a fraction, "1/25" and ".68/25".
Should I take this to mean 1uf 25V and .68uf 25V?
