TW used that to master a few records that I worked on as well. Great sounding comp! If this would have come up just a month ago I would have grabbed it in a second.

Best of luck with the sale.

Just thought I'd update this thread. I just ordered a pair of API 527's. This is my first venture into the 500 series world. My situation has changed a bit and space is the real concern these days. I sold off a LOT of gear and I went from two packed 12 space racks to a single 12 space with room to s...

Jim, thanks for the advice. I've read quite a bit about Dylan and his views on modern production - I think I have a "less is more" approach to recording in general. I'm by no means a fan of squashing, which is why I haven't invested in a major compressor until now. I'm pretty delicate with anything ...

I don't have any direct affiliation, but I've purchased and LOVE these inline attenuators from Naiant: http://naiant.com/naiant/inlinedevices.html I have four of them (sorry none for trade, I use them too much!) and use them on microphones that don't have pads, or on preamp outputs so that I can sat...

Concerning the 2500 - Has anyone used it much for tracking? Or more specifically, have you used it for tracking then again on the 2-buss or mix-buss with the same material? If I get this unit that's likely what will happen: a lot of tracking with the comp (usually with a lighter touch) on OH's/ guit...

Thanks for all of the great feedback. I love the idea of the 500 series, but right now my rig is mobile and I do a lot of transporting my gear so it has to fit in my SKB racks. I know I didn't explain this earlier, but that's part of the appeal of this gear - it all fits in a 1U or 2U space. The oth...

My first 2-bus chain... need help

I?m basically looking for a stereo chain of analog EQ and compression. Being my first quality ( I have an AudioArts 4100, Art Pro VLA, dbx 166 & 160A ) outboard processors I?ll need it to be somewhat flexible in usability. Likewise, I hope to eventually add some additional flavors, so I?d rather not...

It's been a LONG time SM PRO unit : Fortunately, since my latest update nothing else has pooped out on me. The remaining 3 or 4 channels are working with a bit of fiddling. However, there was one occasion where I specifically needed 6 channels, and it took some very resourceful work on my part to ac...

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like I was definitely misinformed. Major bummer, as I was planning on using the ISA for an additional 8 channels of input, as it functioned quite nicely with my 003r. Well, looks like I'm back to square one. I'm curious about the Rosettas & linking via X-FW. Has anyo...
