A larger company could have someone dedicated to dealing with email. That's not FMR. Everyone at hand is involved directly in production, testing, and shipping, and when possible, design. So while an email may languish in their inbox, when you phone they answer. Think how many companies will have a ...

Affirmative on the "give 'em a call" approach. You are far more likely to make contact quickly that way than via email.

You tell 'em that if they wanted to hear it that way they should've played it that way. <g>

Next time have 'em put that amp up on a ladder.

Don't wait until it's mix time to begin dealing with this. Using the small speaker(s) along with your mains during tracking will let you know if you're capturing the information that will allow the instrument to speak well over both systems. Manage that well and you'll find you don't have to work as...

You're welcome, Eric. rec.audio.pro is still hanging in there, though activity is much less than once upon a time. Still, good info can be had there and a few folks, like Mike Rivers and Scott Dorsey, who predate my own arrival there, still provide a lot of helpful info. They were the near-instant r...

My parents used to watch it regularly. While I knew little, specifically, of the level of musicianship involved, I found it weirdly fascinating. Much later I realized it was the musicianship that made it so, even if at the time the Lennon Sisters' sweaters were also intriguing.

Can't really help you as mine still works well. I bought it in 1975, stereo machine, 7.5, 15, & 30 ips, in console. That said, some heavy techs lurk at Terry Manning's forum, Pro Recording Workshop, and if you don't get help elsewhere you might post there. http://prorecordingworkshop.lefora.com/ The...

Mind what Nick said about levels. Leave what you might think are ridiculous amounts of headroom going in. I'd not have a peak above -12dBFS, averages might run as low as -20dBFS or even lower. The noise floor of any modern digital system will be irrelevant in context. A signal once clipped is never ...

The specs say 150mw each output for the cans. I think that's not really enough for your purpose. Powered model should work fine controlled via the HP4.

Probably make sense to read the manual for the Presonus, particularly under Section 4.1 Back Panel Basic Layout. http://tinyurl.com/825brle

The powered versions have a 60 watt amp built-in. Your headphone amp doesn't have that kind of power. The results could be disappointing.

Apologies, Mr. Craggs. (Though I gotta say, yo' shop don't look too shabby! Mr. Hull would approve.)

There could be room for both of us in this underground bit field. Are your extra bits fixed, or floating?
