judging by the recessed trimpots its probably meant to be a system EQ for a PA or speaker setup. Or, does it have multiple outputs? Might it not be a crossover? It's mono in/out. I don't think it cuts/boosts enough to be a crossover. The system eq seems more likely, but I was thinking they would ha...

Yeah I was looking for something more specific.

I've tried it. It sounds great. They call it the cock box. I never asked why.

Urei 1100?

A friend came upon this box and bought it because of its name and model (thinking it may have some relation to 1176). In the year or so it's been sitting in the studio, we haven't been able to find anything out about it. UA didn't know what it was. I apologize for the poor resolution of my phone pic...

i tried it for the first time for a few hours the other day, but didn't have time to get into all of the new stuff. some of the new front-end features seemed cool. like the pan knobs and being able to see the grid through regions. i thought the waveforms drawings looked different, but haven't tried ...

i'm not sure how to do it on a pc, but i'm sure it's the same idea. in finder, go to: applications/digidesign/protools/plug-ins alias this is where you will find the .dpm files that protools is referencing for the list. i usually create another folder in the same directory ('unused plugins') and dum...

let's mix some surround music?

i'm a re-recording mixer by trade and, though i've mixed score in surround and music in stereo before that, i've been itching to mix some non-orchestral music in surround. of course, paying me would be a great motivator for me to do it by a specific time, but i'm willing to do some freebees if it's ...

Can the H4n handle 5.1 surround tasks??? I would guess that with 4 mics it could be done, but maybe I need to better grasp surround specs in general 5.1 = 6 discreet channels (the .x being the number of discreet boom tracks). unless i missed something that said the h4 will do 6, this is probably no...

right, i understand that. but the things you find to discuss here are either nonsense or things that the smart people were discussing years and years ago. what an elitist attitude. thank goodness the internet wasn't invented for people who already know everything. steve, thanks for giving me someth...

Not to be a bad influence, but I've played the little phatty, not expecting much, and it sounds great. Whole different ballpark from a Microkorg if you want moogishness. Re Studio Electronics, I would steer clear of their two oscillator mono module, the atc-1, if you want a big moog sound. I had on...

if you're looking for a moog-alike, the studio electronics stuff is the way to go. it's right around your price range and sounds great. very similar in terms of design and layout also. if anything could compare to a moog, i'd say the se line is as close as you'll get. ebay has some hot SE deals from...

i agree that pt is quite stable under most appropriate conditions and that this sounds like a plugin issue, not a pt issue. ive noticed this problem mostly with pirated plugins. not saying that's the case here, but i have seen this as a plugin issue more often than not.

FS: Yamaha TX816, TX802 / Roland D-50 / Korg M1-R / Synths

I have a bunch more, all in working condition, but these are the cooler of the lot. I'll make a list and take some pictures if someone is interested. The TX816 is 8 DX7 modules in one rack unit and the TX802 is essentially the rackmount version of the DX7 MK2. I have a flight case that I'd send with...

why not just save plugin settings? you can recall those in your new mix sessions. this should work unless youve got plugin moves youre trying to keep.

any other data like volume or routing should either be non-applicable in the new session or easily duplicated once youve got your plugins set.
