Why not just build walls and treat the inner surface? No need to finish the Sheetrock, if you cover it with treatment. Are you running into ceiling height issues? Inside out walls work really well when you need minimal isolation, and you are building a smaller "iso" room within a much larger room. O...

On the cheap, you can not beat a ribbon mic with nearly any budget sdc's. A cheap ribbon mic might have a lower output and a cheap transformer but the ribbon makes the mic immune from off axis hash. Galen is right on the money. Room acoustics are especially important when you are talking about drums...

It should be easy enough to input your room dimensions into one of the online room mode calculators. Then start attacking the lowest fundamental you can. My guess is that you are going to need membrane or Helmholtz absorbers to do any real damage in a cube. I've had great results with HH absorbers t...

8ohm for a fender is fine. Fender amps aren't finicky about seeing a specific ohm rating. And 4/8ohms is well within any tolerance. Should be fine.

Ev12's are amazing speakers and will also handle bass frequencies easily. They are glorious sounding speakers, but a heavy as hell!

eminence

The cannabis Rex can handle all the bass you can throw at it.
They make a PILE of speakers that should work for you and will be well under $250.

The other place to look is Weber. They offer a high powered line that should cover you as well.

Probably a dead horse thread.... Any underlayment is essentially as good as another. In the floor/ceiling assembly the key is shock absorption. Which is fairly difficult to achieve to a great degree, but easy to achieve to a certain result. Cardboard, insulation, carpet, pergo underlayment, mlv.... ...

I love radio shack.... Why?

Because when a diode rectifier goes down on a Friday at 7pm....I can (most of the time) get that emergency part and make the fix.

I would be sad to see them disappear....even if they carry very few parts and pieces....very few is better than none.

Mattress foam. Not really worth having. Foam in general, is not a very good solution for acoustic treatment. You should find and endless rabbit hole of info online regarding foam vs rigid fiberglass insulation and mid range frequency absorption. If you don't have a good handle on small room acoustic...

In my experience, Ultra touch isn't worth paying any extra $ for. It doesn't out perform standard fiberglass insulation in sound transmission. It is less itchy, but it's extremely dusty and will have your lungs coated in blue dust. I would not work with it without a mask. Yes, it's that dusty.... Pl...

Berhinger x32. Beefed up quality control injection by midas. Has what you're looking for. But....firewire is a dead end. Apple brought it to market and they've abandoned it.
