I'd also recommend spending some time with the green glue website.

They've got an exhaustive amount of research and construction related information presented with great images.

Always interested in buildouts.

Standard sound isolation assembly's are code compliant. Rc, green glue, hat channel etc etc etc are all tested for residential/commercial applications. The condo boom is what's fueled most of the innovation in this area in the past 10-15 years. I think you're missing the big picture. You're not crea...

What's wrong with using a small mixer? No need to have your mics pass through it....

On the other hand, if you are switching interfaces, it would make a ton of sense to move to an interface/mixer like the studiolive...or one of its similar relatives.

You can use Epdm..... Generally I use mlv for this purpose. But any membrane with some weight to it will be beneficial.

Not trying to be a downer........but It's almost a shame to put foam like that up in your space. You've got diy skills....I'd strongly suggest looking into pressure based limp mass (membrane) low end absorbers. The Aurelex stuff really only excels at softening up highs...which is easy to do. None of...

I've got a Sputnik in my space now... I've found it very hyped in the high end and kind of 'plinky' sounding. Like there's a problematic resonance in the mic body. Anyone else experience this? I'd say that better quality mic's aren't always sexy sounding at first (generally Speaking) .....but they w...

Looks great! Really stinking great!

But you are going to want to seriously decouple your speakers from that shelf. Evil low end rumbling mud will want to live there and pollute your ears.

I'd suggest getting familiar with REW or fuzzmeasure etc. Haphazard acoustic treatment is almost more closely related to interior decorating than acoustic treatment.
A little planning will give you a big payoff in results.

I'd strongly suggest NOT getting a desk because it's modifiable. Any piece of electronics is capable of being modified. Not a selling point. I'd say you're better off with a strong functioning desk rather than a platform for something. Work with the ramsa until you find what you're missing. Could be...

There's a crowd funding effort going on right now for almost exactly what you're describing. Nob.

Put the cursor over anything and the knob controls it. Also some other unique functions but otherwise a very simple device.
