i know what you mean. any time i get some that's new, as in new new, i treat it like it's a piece of art that i can't possibly damage or the world will end. inevitably, i do something stupid and smash a chunk off of said gear. if there are people around during one of these incidences, i usually see ...

anyone have any suggestions on getting this up and running again. it suffered no distress... just crapped out. when i take it apart i'm getting noise through the chain all the way up to the two exposed connections on the side of the diaphragm. if i crank the gain a slight, very distorted signal pass...

if it sounds good, probably a fake.

can't swing a j or p guy right now but i do have a '68 tele bass. will that do?

i quite enjoy beyerdynamic's dt 770.

i use cool edit... well, audition now. zoom is super easy. can't you just go to the scroll bar on the left side of the screen and zoom? i can.

if i'm correct, that is NOT a firewire cable. motus use a pci card and that's their cable to go from the box to the card.

well my new toy arrived yesterday. in a word: amazing! i've only tried it with an sm7 about 6" from the grill dead center. nice! on a side note: where is this line out that has been mentioned? i have and external amp out and extension cab out... both of which cut the sound to the cab. -mike

to the recommenders of the sennheiser e609: do you think it's worth picking up this cheap guy for this amp or should my other mics be fine? like, does it beat out the others enough to buy it for this purpose? thanks - mike

thanks folks! at this point i think i'm really leaning toward amplitube. :lol: actually i might pick up one of those 609's as they're super cheap. i'd love to get an m88 but it's a bit out of my price range and there are a few mics i've been meaning to get first (aren't there always!) i have a 4047,...
