.....and the ME in question was ME. It was a good ruse!

This record is terrific and you all should listen to it! Had a great time working on this.
A lot of the reason it sounds the way it does is your excellent work. Thanks again :)

And obv having well recorded live drums doesn’t hurt. <3

Re: 4Track All-Stars w Chris Garges

I love that! Chris did some drum tracking on a handful of things with me, too, and he must've walked by his piano on his way back into the control room after a take and ended up playing this funny and quick little piano thing that I similarly had to solo the drum buss to track down. I loved it. Tha...

4Track All-Stars w Chris Garges

I met Chris through this forum back in the 2000s. As any of you who knew him know, he was a great drummer, a great engineer, and a wonderful human being. He played and captured the drums on tracks 2, 4, and 5 of this EP. As always his performances were excellent and the tracks sounded so good that t...

I'm not mad at that idea!

But the "tracking space" does sound pretty good. And if someone's trying to record more than just overdubs, I'd probably go somewhere else.

Lol!

The answer is simple: the Austin real estate market.

705 Scraps: what to do? (and other stuff)

So we bought a house and I'm in the process of finishing the bedroom that is doubling as control room, office, and storage for my clothing. I think I'm going to be doing mostly mixing and writing/arranging in this space (the living room has a nice high ceiling and sounds pretty good). Anyway, I've a...

Riiiiiight. Because the higher max input represents headroom between 0dbu and the point at which the input clips. Makes sense now.

Thanks guys.

Here's what's getting me, and it's probably really simple and I'm missing it, but I'm not sure how the math works outside of a system with a max input of 20dbu. I think I see how you got to 0dbu=-16dbfs (20-4 and then subtract from 0 to get -16). What if we're looking at the Symphony ADC, which can ...

So there is a correlation between voltage and binary? I thought that maybe I've had it wrong all these years, and maybe I do, but I don't think you can just take a number that applies to dbU and use it to manipulate the math as it applies to dbfs. Aren't the two exclusive without knowing how the man...

Apogee Duet Input Calibration

A friend just bought a Duet II and I thought I'd be helpful and look at the spec sheet for the input calibration. http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/duet2.php#specs No such. Max input = +20dbU. And an impedance measurement. So my math was never that great to begin with, but is there way to distil...

He already owns the hd. And maybe lack of options is a symptom of the lightpipe format growing long in the tooth.

Currently reading this thread while streaming my iPad through one of those Bose Bluetooth thingies because we blew the breaker for the front lounge entertainment system. So yeah. Mono. Also, the real reason to check your mix in mono: Space Ghost: I also received two cool speakers. Zorak: (wide-eyed)...
