Re: ADAM A7 inconsistencies
By accident, I just discovered that my A7s sound quite a bit different from each other, even though both have the EQ settings at flat. One of them sounds way brighter than the other. Anyone else have this experience? Should I just accept the difference and try to compensate with the EQ settings? Or...

Nah. A little freaked out by the tuners. And the size. See, I'm 6'8". I need a big instrument. That guitar looks like a ukulele on me. Andy, being a MKE guy, you'll appreciate this: Warpdrive has a 1960 Epiphone Century that I'm in love with. Do you go out there much? That store is amazing. Ah, I s...

I've had both the G5120 and the 6119 (the Tennessee Rose). The rose was definitely nicer, but playing them side by side, the G5120 really held it's own. I played one for about a year before I found a crazy good deal on the Rose, and even then had a hard time getting rid of the 5120. I think it's a ...

If you don't mind a weirder guitar, there's a 1972 Harmony H82G Rebel over at Wade's that looks pretty nice. http://www.wadesguitarshop.com/NewsImages/Picks/Rebel.jpg Andy Holy crap is that weird. I just walked out of Wade's. Literally. Like 30 seconds ago. And while I was there, I was looking at t...

i tried really hard to like the 6120, but it never felt right. however. . . the 6119. i love that guitar. http://gretschpages.com/guitars/tennessee-rose-1962-reissue/ That's such a beautiful instrument. Unfortunately, a bit out of range for me at the moment. Yeah, my choice has really come down to ...

Thinking of getting a Gretsch G5120 or G5122 (the double cutaway version). Just wondering if anyone has any stories on these...good or bad. Was also considering a Casino (same price range), but the Gretsch felt meatier to me. Any opinions or thoughts or reviews would be hugely appreciated. I know li...

So...how'd it go? Hmm. Good question. It's been an interesting roller-coaster since receiving the first reference disc one week ago. When I first got it, I was unhappy with it. I suppose I secretly wished that my record would come back sounding like a better record than it is. I know that's immatur...

For what it's worth, I recently got a Millennia TD1 (mic pre/direct box/magic box) after many years of using cheap board mic preamps and the RNP. The difference is not subtle at all. It's huge. Everything sounds way, way, way better. Cleaner, clearer, more real, more true. It's ridiculous. For whate...

Yes about that edit. I rewound and re-listened about 10 times because I thought I was losing my mind. I just got the vinyl. I'll be curious to see if it's as noticeable there. Saw SM & Jicks here in Milwaukee the other night and was totally blown away. I had no expectations. I've always like the guy...

I suggest communicating directly with your mastering engineer to find out their requirements - I'm sure they can guide you through this and put your mind at ease that they won't in fact truncate your data files by default. +1 Yeah, I definitely hear you on this, and I definitely bugged the living c...

I don't know if you're familiar with Macs, but they give you an option to create a "burn folder" of files, and then they will burn that disc for you. Yes. This is correct. In Mac OS X, just drag your audio files onto the disc icon. This is what is then referred to as a "data disc" which is differen...

I don't know about the interleaved thing...... Beyond that, I have composed, performed and tracked (not mixed) my own records....one of which was mastered by the Goldens and it was the best mastering experience I have had so far. Everybody that works there is really great and super friendly. If you...
