Hi Justin! I've gotten to know which tracks are best for what, and I like what it adds to the music. I wish I could do everything on tape. But I also love stereo guitar miking, and that eats up tracks.... this may all be obvious, but, my favorite thing now is combining sources before tape... combin...

Apogee Ensemble - not recognizing firewire - any ideas?

I have a steady green light on my ensemble... have tried every conceivable thing. might just have to ship across the country. just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?

thanks,
L

Snarl, Nick, thanks for your thoughts... I agree with you Snarl. I'm sure this track would bore me too if it weren't mine, ha. Too bad though, because my favorite part (as always) is 2/3 thru til the end... I think tempo needs a bit more push, a few more clicks and a little more oumph from everyone....

the performances are all first takes, as it was mostly a technical experiment... as soon as i suggested we do a conceptual overdub track things immediately devolved into existential crisis regarding the merits of live recording and on and on... but all i wanted to do was test out some new ideas abou...

Canadian folk-rock! Trombones! Hammond Flutes!

We are in the final stages of production with this track and I would love some input from you all. The movie "Dear God No" is a grindhouse, biker, nuclear-waste, sasquatch movie that is coming out soon. It was made by a bunch of folks in the Atlanta area. The whole concept of the movie is that it wa...

Need advice on interfaces to get iZ Radar talking to mac

I acquired an Allen & Heath ZED16 last summer and have been using it alongside a laptop without any problems. But now things have changed and I need your help figuring out the best thing to do: A couple months ago, a friend 'permaloaned' my studio a 16 channel Toft board, a Radar 24, and some outboa...

Check out the new G I A N T Sounds website!

Greetings TOMBers, I have been lurking around this forum for years, and I now have something to share: http://giantsounds.net Give my studio a look! The room sounds better than any space I've recorded in. The drums on "Loveshack" by the B-52's were recorded here. Rage Against The Machine wrote their...

Which is why Keith is such and asshole. Branford has had nothing but respect for keith growing up. For Keith to outright talk smack about Branford, whom he had never met, in Downbeat in the mid 90s, really pissed Branford off. I'd be pissed-off, too. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC did keith really talk...

I think he has bigger issues with Keith Jarrett. But yeah, the two of them don't ever discuss music. Like, EVER. I've heard that from both of them. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC EXACTLY. which is just unbelievable to me. granted, jarrett can be a prick sometimes. but IT'S SO ENDEARING!!!!! HE IS KEITH...

It should also be noted that knowing people who know Wynton myself and having met Branford, I can say that Branford is a super-nice, extremely well-spoken, open-minded individual. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC branford rules!!! it's too bad he didn't bust [mangle] his bro's lip at some point growing u...
