I find it weird hearing drummer perspective recordings if they're using a lot of room sound with less close-micing.

When I'm sitting behind a kit I'm getting a lot of direct sound straight off the drums, so if the close mics are a big part of the sound then I'm more inclined to pan things this way.

So in this case if you were to feed the Duet a signal that measured 0VU (+4dBu)on an analogue console, you would see -16dBFS in your DAW metering.
