A sarod, an actual medieval harp, firearms of different kinds, guinea pigs.
You can’t say guinea pigs with out a Bandcamp or YouTube’s link. Context is everything.
Soon to be in a Disney movie... so be patient.

Feeler: Left Hand guitars anyone?

Hi Guys, I am considering selling off a few of my left hand guitars. They are in impeccable condition. Both are factory spec. List: Gibson Les Paul Jr, tobacco brown color, made in 2014. ESP Kirk Hammett Limited edition. mad in the early 2000s. If anyone really is interested, I can post pictures and...

One more vote for the PSP plug ins. Those are wildly cool and useful.

Re: No fancy tube mics - am I missing out?

I always believe in having a full set of the different types of microphones whenever possible. Although in Metal and Punk a tube mic may not be used as often, it might still be of use during recording of electric guitar amps, and of background vocals / hushes vocals / as a Mono drum room mic. I love...

Re: reverbs - mono or stereo and why?

I use them from time to time. Making two mono reverbs for example, and panning them differently that the usual 100%. Sometimes, I use a reverb only to accentuate one instrument, and pan it along with that instrument. It gives it more of a ethereal / spacey vibe. Sometimes I do use a Stereo reverb fo...

We used two mics on the drums, as this was how they were liking doing things then.

It was a Shure SM58 inside the kick, and a Bruel & Kjaer omni 4006 about 3 feet above the drummer's head,
placed so it heard approximately what he did.
Less mics, less problems. :)

Awesome, Nick!

Can you name any specific singles?
Whatever went as a single to Japan, from the album "Amnesiac". I am not sure if any of that ended up on the album itself. They do record pretty dry, then FX the shit out of things.

Cheers

Re: Unusual recording gigs and new experiences- share your stories

One experience I keep having is this: Artist does one take, in another studio, in the dark, nebulous past. It is not to their standard of playing. They admit this openly. Artist has lots of editing done to said one take. Never gets what they want out of the one take. Two, three, even four engineers ...

Re: Getting organ bass to translate to small speakers

The sound disappears on tiny speakers, well, because those speakers are not designed to reproduce that sound.

I would just add some of that sound an octave higher or even two octaves higher, but not loud, to "emulate" that low sound on those tiny speakers.

Or, leave it alone.

AEW-T3300 (using the same capsule as the AT4033)

Um... no. It does not use the same capsule.

To convert it, you may need the schematics, try someone you may know
who is an authorized repair person.

Re: Soundtracs: scratchy knobs/switches

Products by CAIG, which may or may not be around any longer. I think HOSA bought them.
Deoxit Faderlube is the one you need.

And they have other ones for metal resistive pots as well.
