Re: RIP, Charlie Daniels

Won't happen again! In the 80's, he was down with the Marshall Tucker Band, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Skynyrd crowd. But I don't think it was anything more than the music and image - no 'net and I never saw him interviewed except about the movie, when I was more into Vai, anyway,...

He was a racist piece of shit, and an asshole to boot.

In my experience.

Re: How would you get this bass sound? (Karen Dalton - Something on your mind)

She really is a secret treasure.

The bass was played by Harvey Brooks. Maybe ask him, if he is online, and he remembers... LOL.

He played on "Like A Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Bought an upgrade to my ancient Nuendo 1.52.

Had to wait until this year because THEY HAD NO UPGRADE PATH BEFORE.

LOL.

Waiting on Steinberg.de to do their thing.

Re: anyone sell their own samples?

Security? Really, just have an agreement for "usage" of some sort. Not sure what security you want. Samples are samples. You sell them, and whoever buys them uses them in their own projects. Whether for profit or not, is their business, not yours. The only time I have seen someone NOT sell their pro...

If you are installing in a studio, HOSA is fine.

Otherwise, look about for something better for touring.

Re: SW 1280b Jensen Trafo proglems.

Yeah I could see not messing with the console but I’m not too precious about it, and I think their(Super Tramp’s of course) guy was going to mod it as he had extensive notes in a folder on different OpAmp chips. Turns out I had the hi and lo secondaries reversed coming out of the Jensen. I’ve got p...

I've got a side line on an XR, let me see how that pans out and I'll get back to you on the MX.
I've used both, preferred the MX converters. This one has the analog 24 channel IO, and the ADAT digital IO as well.

Cheers.

Re: WTB: Alesis HD24XR or comparable...

I still have my Tascam MX2424. With two caddy drives, cables (TRS), etc. (I can make a CD with their latest software MX Edit etc.) If you want it, make me an offer I cannot refuse. ;) I'd have to weigh it all to give you an approximate shipping price. This does 24 bit 96k 12 channels, or 24 channels...

BTW my console used to belong to Super Tramp, it was apparently what they used for demos at their practice spot. Thanks!
I would have left it completely alone.
